On March 15th, the Vietnam Military History Museum, in collaboration with the Nghe An Department of Culture and Sports and the family of General Chu Huy Man, organized the exhibition "General Chu Huy Man - A Virtuous and Multitalented General with Two Strengths".

The exhibition is organized to commemorate the 110th anniversary of the birth of Comrade General Chu Huy Mân (March 17, 1913 - March 17, 2023), former member of the Politburo , former Vice Chairman of the State Council (now Vice President), and former Head of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army.

In his opening remarks, Lieutenant Colonel Le Vu Huy, Director of the Vietnam Military History Museum, stated that General Chu Huy Man, whose birth name was Chu Van Dieu, was born on March 17, 1913, in Yen Luu commune, Yen Truong district, Hung Nguyen prefecture (now Hung Hoa commune, Vinh city, Nghe An province). In this land of rich cultural and patriotic traditions, he early absorbed the cultural and patriotic traditions of his homeland and was enlightened by the revolutionary cause.

Comrade [Name] was a staunch revolutionary fighter, an outstanding politician and military leader of our Army, and an excellent disciple of President Ho Chi Minh. His entire life and career was a shining example, a model of unwavering loyalty to the Party, wholeheartedly serving the Fatherland and the People, fighting throughout his life for the ideals of national independence and socialism, for the benefit of the nation, for the happiness of the People, and for the strength and victory of the Vietnam People's Army.

Lieutenant Colonel Le Vu Huy emphasized: The exhibition is an activity aimed at expressing gratitude and honoring the great contributions of General Chu Huy Man in the struggle for national liberation, national reunification, and the building and protection of the Fatherland; thereby promoting and educating cadres, soldiers, and the people, especially the younger generation, to actively study, work, and contribute their strength and intellect to the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland.

Accordingly, the exhibition features nearly 200 representative images, documents, and artifacts reflecting the immense contributions of General Chu Huy Mân to the cause of national liberation, building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.

The exhibition includes:

Introduction: Displaying representative images that demonstrate the special care and affection of President Ho Chi Minh, the leaders of the Party, State, and Army for General Chu Huy Man.

Part 1 - Youth Nurturing Great Ambitions: This section displays representative images and documents about the traditions of his homeland and family - the place where General Chu Huy Mân was born, grew up, and where his soul, patriotic spirit, and revolutionary will were nurtured. The young Chu Văn Điều (General Chu Huy Mân's birth name) joined the revolutionary movement early on, making significant contributions to the victory of the August Revolution of 1945 in Quảng Nam.

Part 2 - The Virtuous and Talented General "Hai Mạnh": This section displays typical images, documents, and artifacts reflecting the revolutionary activities of General Chu Huy Mân; his feelings for his homeland, family, comrades, and in his daily life. In his roles as Political Commissar and Commander in regiments, divisions, military regions, and fronts, he affirmed his role as an outstanding military and political leader, making significant contributions to the growth and strength of the Vietnam People's Army in the cause of national liberation and reunification (1945-1975).

In his capacity as Head of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army and Vice Chairman of the State Council, he, together with the Central Military Party Committee (now the Central Military Commission) and the Ministry of National Defense, focused on leading and directing military and national defense work, especially the building and strengthening of Party organizations, training and developing a contingent of successor cadres, and paying attention to building a contingent of political officers and combined arms commanders at the operational and strategic levels... making many contributions to the Party, the State, and the Army in the cause of national construction and development, and expanding defense foreign relations.

Lieutenant Colonel Le Vu Huy stated that the artifacts and documents presented at the exhibition are historically valuable items preserved at the Vietnam National History Museum, the Nghe Tinh Soviet Museum, the Military Region 5 Museum, and the family of General Chu Huy Man. Among them are many representative items being introduced to the public for the first time, such as: the blue uniform worn by Political Commissar Chu Huy Man, Commander of Military Region 5, in the Military Region 5 battlefield from 1965 to 1975; a letter from Major General Chu Huy Man, Commander of Military Region 5, dated December 5, 1969, to the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and the Command Board of Regiment 2, Division 2, encouraging the Regiment to complete its combat mission in Tra Bong, Quang Ngai; and a group of artifacts including a set of tables and chairs, a lamp, and a pen used by General Chu Huy Man during his time working at the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army from 1977 to 1986. The order to promote Chu Huy Mân to General, 1980…

The exhibition is open to visitors from March 15, 2023, and will run until June 15, 2023, at the Vietnam Military History Museum, 28A Dien Bien Phu Street, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi.
