According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Hoai, Chairman of the People's Committee of Van Hoa commune, the landslide occurred at kilometer 87 on National Highway 19C. Upon receiving the information, the local authorities, in coordination with the militia and the commune police force, were present at the scene and mobilized residents to participate in remediation efforts. The forces excavated and cleared the soil and rocks, opened drainage ditches, cleared and removed mud that had spilled onto the road surface, creating a temporary passage for vehicles. The forces also placed warning signs and remained on duty to prevent people from passing through the dangerous area.
Local authorities are continuing to coordinate with relevant forces to clear the road. Currently, one lane has been cleared, and the remaining section is still being addressed. They are trying to clear the road by this afternoon so that vehicles can pass through, Mr. Hoai informed.
According to a report from the Dak Lak Provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment, heavy rains from November 15th to 19th have caused flooding in many areas, isolating numerous residential zones. The recent heavy rains have resulted in flooding, landslides, and flash floods affecting almost all 34 communes and wards in the eastern part of the province, as well as some communes in the western part. Many sections of national and provincial roads are also flooded, causing traffic congestion and posing dangers to vehicles. On National Highway 29, 13 points are flooded and traffic is blocked, while 3 points are still passable. Many sections of National Highway 1A, Provincial Road 12, and National Highway 19C are also affected by landslides and flooding. Authorities are deploying personnel to set up checkpoints, place warning signs, and maintain a constant presence to prevent people from crossing dangerous areas.

Forecasts indicate that from noon to evening on November 19th, flood levels in the Ky Lo, Tam Giang, and lower Ba rivers will continue to rise. Widespread flooding is warned in many communes, with a risk of flash floods and landslides in areas with steep terrain, and flooding in residential areas and some roads in urban areas. Therefore, it is advised that water levels in rivers and streams throughout the province are very high, with strong currents. People should exercise extreme caution when traveling and engaging in activities near flooded areas, along riverbanks and streams, and in hilly or mountainous regions.
