Ensuring gasoline supply during Tet

Lunar New Year is the time when the demand for gasoline and oil for travel, production and business of people and enterprises increases sharply. To ensure that the supply of gasoline and oil before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2025 is not interrupted, gasoline and oil businesses in Phu Tho province have developed plans and prepared adequate supplies to meet the needs of the people.

At this time, the number of customers coming to buy gasoline at gas station No. 1, Van Co ward, Viet Tri city started to increase.

Currently, the province has over 270 retail stores selling gasoline and oil; 4 gasoline and oil storage depots with a capacity of nearly ^35,000m3 ; 3 key enterprises including: Phu Tho Petroleum Company, Hai Linh Company Limited, Phu Tho Petroleum Joint Stock Company and 5 gasoline and oil distributors.

In recent times, petroleum businesses in the province have strictly complied with the provisions of the law on petroleum trading. Agents, retail stores, and franchisees have complied with the provisions of the law on fire prevention, fire fighting, and environmental protection during their business operations; registered their distribution systems, registered their sales hours; listed and sold at listed prices, ensuring the quality and quantity sold according to regulations. Thanks to that, petroleum trading activities in the province have been stable, fully serving the fuel needs for production and business activities as well as the travel needs of the people.

Gasoline and oil retail stores in the province ensure supply to serve the needs of people and businesses during Tet.

As a member of the Vietnam National Petroleum Group, directly trading in gasoline, oil and petrochemical products in the province, Phu Tho Petroleum Company is currently supplying gasoline and oil to 62 affiliated retail stores and 68 retail franchisees with 88 stores. Mr. Lai Xuan Cuong - Deputy Director of Phu Tho Petroleum Company said: "To ensure the supply of gasoline and oil during the Lunar New Year 2025, the Company has developed a plan and imported 15% more gasoline and oil reserves than the consumption level of regular business months; at the same time, working with partners and business units to implement the plan to ensure the supply of gasoline and oil before, during and after Tet. According to the plan from January 21 to February 3 (ie December 22 to the 6th day of Tet), the Company expects to consume about 24,000 ^m3 /ton of gasoline and oil of all kinds, equivalent to about 24 million liters."

In addition to ensuring the supply of gasoline, the Company has directed its affiliated gasoline retail stores to arrange adequate human resources and increase staff to maintain regular and continuous sales on all days, especially the days close to Tet.

Surveying the reality at some gas stations in Viet Tri city, at this time, gas stations are operating stably, selling at the listed price and at the prescribed time. At gas station No. 1, Van Co ward, Viet Tri city, the number of customers coming to buy gas has started to increase. Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Cam - Store manager of gas station No. 1 said: "In the days before Tet, the number of customers wanting to buy gas will increase 2-3 times compared to normal days, especially on the last day before the new year. The store has developed a plan to assign overtime, increase shifts, and arrange employees to work at all gas stations from 5:30 to 21:30, avoiding the situation of people having to wait for a long time. Particularly on the first day of Tet, the store opens from 12:00 to 21:30."

Identifying gasoline as an essential commodity, directly affecting all aspects of people's lives as well as production and business activities of enterprises. From January 23, the selling prices of popular gasoline products on the market are regulated as follows: E5RON92 gasoline is not higher than 20,592 VND/liter, down 158 VND/liter; RON95-III gasoline is not higher than 21,142 VND/liter, down 78 VND/liter; 0.05S diesel is not higher than 20,194 VND/liter, up 412 VND/liter; kerosene is not higher than 20,110 VND/liter, up 404 VND/liter, compared to the current price.

In order for the petroleum business activities in the province to be stable, in compliance with the provisions of law and to ensure the supply to serve the production, business and consumption of people and enterprises during the Lunar New Year 2025, the Department of Industry and Trade has issued a document requesting petroleum traders in the province to proactively ensure the supply, have a plan to prepare the quantity of goods, and not to interrupt the supply of petroleum in the business system. In all situations, it is necessary to provide enough goods to retail stores in the distribution system of the enterprise to maintain regular sales activities, ensure enough supply to meet market demands; arrange enough human resources, organize on-duty or overtime to maintain regular and continuous sales activities for the market, before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2025.

In addition, key enterprises and petroleum distributors should focus on sharing supply sources and profits in the distribution system with agents and petroleum retail stores in a reasonable manner to ensure uninterrupted supply of petroleum to the market. Strengthen quality control, selling prices, and measurements in the distribution system; strictly implement regulations on sales time at petroleum retail points and ensure fire prevention and fighting, labor safety and hygiene, and environmental protection in petroleum business activities according to regulations.

At the same time, the authorities proactively monitor petroleum trading activities, ensuring that traders comply with current legal regulations; monitor the quality of petroleum in the management area; monitor the sales time and retail prices of petroleum retail stores in the area; prevent the situation where petroleum stores stop selling without reason, causing shortages and disruptions in local petroleum supply. At the same time, create favorable conditions for petroleum businesses in the area in transporting, circulating and distributing petroleum.
