The Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) recently announced the top 10 securities companies with the largest stock brokerage market share on the HNX and UPCoM exchanges in the second quarter of 2023.
Accordingly, the top 5 securities companies with the largest stock brokerage market share on the Hanoi Stock Exchange remained unchanged compared to the previous quarter. VPS maintained its leading position with a market share of 26.22%, an increase of more than 1 percentage point compared to the previous quarter, followed by VNDirect (9.27%) and SSI (7.81%).
Techcombank Securities (TCBS) maintained its 4th position with a market share of 6.16% this quarter, pushing MB Securities' market share in Q2/2023 down to the bottom of the top 5 with 4.8%.
Similarly, on the UpCOM exchange, the brokerage market share in Q2/2023 was led by VPS, VNDirect, SSI, DSC, and VCBS, with VPS still dominating with 25.08% of the stock brokerage market share, a decrease of 0.46 percentage points compared to the previous quarter.
VNDirect Securities and SSI Securities, which ranked next, also saw their market share decline to 7.14% and 6.86% respectively, compared to 8.62% and 7.48% in the previous quarter.
Notably, the top 5 includes DSC Securities, which has risen to 4th place, whereas it was not in the top 10 the previous quarter, achieving a 6.43% increase in just a few months.
Overall, in the first six months of 2023, despite a decrease compared to the previous quarter, VPS's market share remained dominant on both the HNX and UPCoM exchanges, with market shares of 25.77% and 25.23% respectively.
The next positions on the HNX are contested by VNDirect, SSI, and TCBS with market shares of 9.26%, 8%, and 5.87% respectively. On the Upcom exchange, the difference between VNDirect and SSI is minimal, with SSI Securities lagging behind by less than 1% .
