A major fire is raging in Ca Mau.

At approximately 12 PM on April 10th, a large forest fire broke out at Farm 402 (Logistics Department, Military Region 9, located in Coi 6B hamlet, Khanh Binh Tay commune, Tran Van Thoi district, Ca Mau province).

With thick smoke rising high into the air, authorities in Ca Mau province are urgently deploying a comprehensive set of measures to extinguish the forest fire.

By approximately 4:50 PM, the fire had almost completely destroyed about 20 hectares of forest on the farm and was spreading to an adjacent 90-hectare area.

Authorities mobilized hundreds of people to fight the fire. But by around 5 PM, the fire was still raging and not yet under control.

Upon receiving the report, the Fire and Rescue Police force of Ca Mau province immediately dispatched firefighting vehicles to the scene to assist in extinguishing the fire.

However, the recent severe drought has caused some canals and waterways in the area to dry up, making firefighting efforts difficult.

Farm 402 is under the management of the Logistics Department of Military Region 9. The farm mainly grows melaleuca trees, specializes in raising freshwater fish, and engages in agricultural production.

In response to the situation, Mr. Le Van Su, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, was also present at the scene of the fire to direct the coordination of forces to quickly extinguish the fire.

According to Mr. Ho Song Toan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tran Van Thoi district, there are currently five firefighting teams at the scene.

At the location where he was present, there were approximately 200 people involved in firefighting efforts. However, there was a shortage of water for extinguishing the fire, and strong winds were making it extremely difficult to put out the flames.

Mr. Phan Hoang Vu, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ca Mau province, said: "We have directed functional forces to coordinate with local authorities to disseminate information and encourage people near the fire area to move their belongings and property to minimize damage."

Upon receiving the information, Mr. Le Van Su, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province (wearing a striped shirt), quickly arrived at the scene to direct the forest fire fighting efforts.

The scene indicates strong winds, and the risk of the fire spreading widely is very high.
