Comrade Nguyen Van Quan – Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, Vice Chairman of the Council for evaluating and classifying products under the One Commune One Product Program of the province – concluded the conference.
By the end of 2025, the Rural Development Sub-Department – Department of Agriculture and Environment received requests for evaluation and classification of OCOP products from 16 communes and wards, comprising 56 products from 26 entities belonging to the following groups: food, beverages, handicrafts, community tourism products, ecotourism, and tourist destinations. Of these, 43 products were newly evaluated, 3 were upgraded, and 10 were re-evaluated. After assessment, 46 out of 56 products had valid documentation and met the evaluation criteria.

A representative from the Department of Science and Technology delivered a speech at the conference.
According to the assessment, the product dossiers for the 2025 provincial-level OCOP ranking meet the requirements such as: including reports evaluating the raw material area, labor situation, origin of ideas, local identity, and intellectual property. Participating entities have completed their dossiers, ensuring compliance with regulations. They have also focused on market development, trade promotion, and product advertising and introduction; many entities have websites linked to their product stories. In particular, the products meet the sensory criteria such as: smell, taste, color, design, and size, and are all characteristic, typical products representing the culture, customs, and strengths of each locality.

Members of the Provincial One Commune One Product Evaluation and Ranking Council conducted an on-site inspection at Tam Huu Dung Co., Ltd., Dong Man Hamlet, Tam Duong Commune.
In Vinh Phuc province alone, 33 products from 13 entities were selected for evaluation and ranking. Notable examples include: Tam Dao Mushroom Cooperative, with 4 products evaluated: 3 products proposed for upgrading from 3-star to 4-star – Tam Dao Cordyceps sinensis with long-lasting pupa host; Tam Dao Cordyceps sinensis tea; and Cordyceps sinensis honey; and 1 product proposed for re-recognition at 4 stars – freeze-dried Tam Dao Cordyceps sinensis. Hai Minh Anh Trading and Manufacturing Company Limited has Tam Dao rice wine – 26vol, proposed for OCOP 3-star product recognition...
At the conference, delegates highly appreciated the efforts and innovative spirit of the businesses in creating distinctive products that meet the mandatory requirements and criteria. Delegates requested that businesses continue to focus on improving product quality and commit to maintaining it; adding product labels and quality control documentation for packaging. They also emphasized the importance of registering intellectual property protection and providing documentation demonstrating the application of advanced production processes and technologies.
After hearing explanations from the participating entities, the OCOP Product Evaluation and Classification Council analyzed, scored, and voted to classify and recognize 46 out of 46 provincial-level OCOP products for 2025 (phase 2). A report will be compiled and submitted to the competent authorities for a decision on recognizing new OCOP products or re-recognizing existing OCOP products.
Concluding the conference, the leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Environment requested the Standing Committee of the Council, along with localities and stakeholders, to urgently complete the dossiers and procedures for submission to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and decision on the recognition of OCOP products at the provincial level. The People's Committees of communes and wards should thoroughly disseminate the significance of the OCOP Program to change the awareness and production mindset of the people. At the same time, they should continue to review and select key and potential products to support stakeholders in completing dossiers for evaluation in 2026. Stakeholders should incorporate the Council's feedback, improve their dossiers, overcome limitations, and enhance product quality to reach further into domestic and international markets.
Currently, Phu Tho province has 609 products that meet OCOP standards at 3 stars or higher, including 6 products with 5 stars at the national level. This achievement not only enhances the value of goods but also creates sustainable livelihoods for more than 5,000 rural workers, shifting production mindsets from traditional to high-quality goods. Promoting the OCOP program helps the province elevate the value of agricultural products and build sustainable local brands.
