A comprehensive assessment of the three-tiered People's Court model.

On May 8th, at the headquarters of the Supreme People's Court, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, Head of the Politburo's Inspection and Supervision Team No. 11, chaired a working meeting with the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Supreme People's Court.

At the conference, after hearing the report from the Party Secretary and Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court, Nguyen Van Quang, and the discussions and speeches at the conference, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized that speaking of the courts means speaking of the sacred meaning of justice and fairness - integrity and impartiality - the trust and support of the people. This is a source of pride, but also a great responsibility of the People's Court system towards the country.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man stated: "The courts do not directly generate profits, but they create a sense of security. And in economics , 'security' is the foundation of all investment and development decisions. If the procuracy plays the role of 'guardian' of the supremacy of law, then the courts are the 'drivers' in ensuring fairness and transparency. These are two factors to promote sustainable economic growth."

According to the Chairman of the National Assembly, along with the country's development process, the important role and position of the judiciary have been increasingly affirmed; its functions and tasks have been increasingly clearly defined; its organizational model has been increasingly perfected; the team of judges and staff has grown stronger; its facilities, equipment, and working conditions have improved; and the work of the judiciary has made increasingly significant progress.

Regarding future directions, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man suggested that the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Supreme People's Court and the judicial sector focus on improving the quality and effectiveness of judicial activities at all levels. Judicial activities must ensure that all parties are satisfied and accept the decision, and that judgments are "correct, fair, impartial, and objective."

The Chairman of the National Assembly also proposed a comprehensive evaluation of the three-tiered People's Court model using specific indicators such as: backlog cases, overdue cases, quality of trials, resolution time, and citizen satisfaction; thereby quantifying the courts' contribution to economic development through resolving commercial disputes, bankruptcy cases, protecting property rights, and improving the investment environment. The Chairman also requested that the judicial sector tighten the evaluation of officials based on work output, linked to trial results, individual responsibility, and the responsibility of the head of the institution.

The Chairman of the National Assembly expressed confidence that the People's Courts will continue to make remarkable progress in the coming time, truly becoming a symbol of justice, fairness, trust, and righteousness, a solid political and legal "fortress," contributing to strengthening the people's trust in the Party, the State, and the cause of national renewal, construction, and development.

On this occasion, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man planted a commemorative tree in the grounds of the Supreme People's Court.
