Late on June 17th, heavy rain caused dozens of tons of soil and rocks to slide down the embankment, burying the house, which also served as a sheet metal workshop, belonging to Mr. Nghiem Dinh Quang (40 years old) in Anh Mai village (Loc Chau commune). Mr. Quang and his wife were sleeping in the room that was completely buried. Their two children and the workshop owner's mother-in-law, who were in the adjacent room, managed to escape.
Dozens of rescue workers, along with specialized vehicles and equipment, were mobilized to search for the victim. By 3 a.m. today, authorities had recovered the victim. Mr. Quang had died, while his wife was injured and taken to the hospital for treatment.

The landslide also damaged more than 40 meters along the embankment. In addition to Mr. Quang's house being buried, the soil and rocks damaged much of the property in two adjacent karaoke business rooms; threatening 15 households in the area.
The leaders of Bao Loc City directed relevant agencies to cordon off the area, assess the level of danger from the landslide, and evacuate residents to safe locations. For several days, Bao Loc City has experienced heavy rain, causing flooding on some roads in the city center, as well as many shops and houses.
