Flattery is the calculated behavior of those who are less talented, less virtuous, who live dishonestly and artificially, mainly using deceitful tongues and tongues to praise and flatter others for personal gain. Flattery appeared from time immemorial and exists to this day in part because many people always prefer to hear "winged words" instead of straightforward, honest words.
Flattery changes immeasurably with various forms. It is not simply subordinates flattering their superiors, but sometimes superiors also flatter their subordinates… The consequences of this make those who are flattered to be complacent, delusional, and at the same time genuine cadres and party members are born depressed, reduce their will to strive, and are not eager to contribute. Agencies and units with flatters often lead to partiality, factions, group interests, disunity or backward solidarity, from which the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party committees and organizations decrease, and the quality of task performance is low.
According to Senior Lieutenant Colonel Tran Kim Trong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of Regiment 43 (Division 395, Military Region 3): Currently, staff at all levels in the unit are basically trained at officer schools, have solid political skills, and pure moral qualities, so the phenomenon of "flattering" does not appear much but still crept somewhere in daily life, activities and work. Although the main expression only stops at using "wing words" to please superiors and teammates, but if it is not corrected, it will create bad public opinion, more or less affecting the spirit of solidarity and the results of performing tasks of agencies and units.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Vu Xuan Loi, Political Director of the 405th Brigade (Military Zone 3): Political activities, emulation movements, campaigns, especially the promotion of learning and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style have been widely deployed, continuously for a long time at agencies and units, which have been creating a favorable environment for cadres and party members to cultivate their ideals and skills. In addition, agencies and units focused on expanding and promoting democracy at the grassroots level, promoting self-criticism and criticism in daily life and study, helping officers and soldiers to express their opinions and views in a frank and open manner; helping to make the relationship between officers and soldiers, superiors and subordinates more and more close and pure in the spirit of loving comrades and comrades. This has actively contributed to preventing flattery and "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" expressions within agencies and units.
In order to eliminate flattery, according to Colonel Nguyen Dinh Khiem, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of Division 395 (Military Zone 3): The most important thing is to educate and train cadres and party members with good moral qualities and high self-esteem. Because when cadres and party members have quality and self-respect, they will always know how to preserve their honor, be honest, simple, sober, lucid and not be "fascinated" by caressing words, excessive praise.
Pushing back the habit of flattery is not a simple matter, it is not an overnight thing, so the Party committees, commanders of agencies and units, and each cadre and party member must always show a frank, resolute and persistent attitude to struggle with this negative expression. First of all, it is necessary to regularly pay attention to doing well the political and ideological education, building the right working motivation, fostering pure moral qualities for the contingent of cadres and party members in association with the good implementation of inspection and supervision; promote the exemplary role of the contingent of cadres and party members, especially those in charge in commenting, evaluating, promoting and appointing cadres to ensure democracy, objectivity, correct principles and compliance with procedures; create a healthy, equal and fair working environment for officials and party members to work together to train and strive.
