Lac Duong district is actively promoting its branded and specialty local products on e-commerce platforms to expand its consumer market.

According to the People's Committee of Lac Duong district, by the end of 2024, the entire district had 78 products recognized as OCOP products with 3 stars or higher; of which, 9 products achieved 4 stars and 69 products achieved 3 stars. The goal is to develop at least 9 new products recognized as OCOP products by the end of 2025; of which, at least 2 products will achieve 4-star certification.

According to Mr. Hoang Xuan Hai, Head of the Agriculture and Environment Department of Lac Duong district, using funds from the National Target Program for New Rural Development, Sustainable Poverty Reduction, and Socio -Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas, Lac Duong district has supported people and businesses in investing in agricultural production towards organic, smart, and high-tech applications, thereby diversifying industries and aiming to develop distinctive products of the district.

Through these programs, people, especially ethnic minority households, have been encouraged to boldly invest in new, advanced machinery, equipment, and production lines to serve production. As a result, the quality of agricultural products in Lac Duong district has gradually improved; production output has increased by 15-20% compared to before participating in the program; food safety and hygiene have been emphasized; packaging and labeling have been improved to meet market demands; and trademark registration, promotion, and trade facilitation have received attention.

Annually, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lac Duong district, along with related units, organizes reviews and guides localities in surveying and developing product ideas; plans surveys and provides consultation on product idea selection; implements projects to support product development; and evaluates and classifies OCOP products in the district.

On the other hand, the People's Committee of Lac Duong District has shown interest in directing and guiding OCOP units and entities to strengthen their promotional and trade activities. Specifically, Lac Duong District has established a product display and introduction area at the Lac Duong District OCOP Center and helped entities promote OCOP products through the application of information technology in management and sales. In addition to traditional product distribution channels, many OCOP entities in the district now sell their products on e-commerce platforms such as the Lam Dong Provincial e-commerce platform, Zalo, Facebook, TikTok, Shopee, and postmart.vn… This has gradually helped to establish brands and improve quality, not only serving the domestic market but also aiming for export. In particular, to promote the development of the digital economy in agriculture, Lac Duong District is collaborating with the Viettel Military Telecommunications Group to bring some of the local OCOP products to the voso.vn e-commerce trading platform.

According to Mr. Hoang Xuan Hai, recently, the application of e-commerce in production and business activities has been actively implemented by enterprises, cooperatives, and farmers in Lac Duong district. Currently, the locality has 6 products recognized as 4-star OCOP products listed on the e-commerce platform voso.vn, including: red raspberry wine, black raspberry wine, red raspberry jam, black raspberry jam, Langbiang shiitake mushrooms, and shiitake mushrooms. These products have been receiving positive feedback from customers. According to businesses, participating in e-commerce platforms is a very practical activity to expand markets; at the same time, it helps local specialty products not only reach the domestic market but also aim for international markets.

In the coming period, Lac Duong district will continue to focus on mobilizing support funds from the central government for the National Target Program on New Rural Development; funds for restructuring the agricultural sector towards comprehensiveness, sustainability, and modernization; production support funds from the district-level People's Committee; and matching funds from participating entities to strengthen professional training in production management and business management for leaders of cooperatives, cooperative groups, enterprises, and households participating in the OCOP program in the district.

Simultaneously, the plan aims to expand investment in production development, strengthen trade promotion, and enhance the brand value of Lac Duong's OCOP products in the domestic market and towards export. Emphasis will be placed on OCOP products from Lac Duong district with established brands, following a value chain based on local raw material strengths, culture, and indigenous knowledge, especially local specialties, handicraft products, and tourism services, in line with a circular economy and ensuring a sustainable ecosystem in the area during the 2022-2025 period.
