“Teach well, learn well” political theory seen from competitions

In order to promote the emulation movement "Teach well, learn well", as well as evaluate the actual teaching and learning of intermediate political theory classes to improve the quality of learning, the Provincial Political School has just organized the "Excellent Lecturer" and "Excellent Political Theory Student" contests in 2024.

Improve knowledge, innovate methods

The 2024 "Excellent Lecturer" contest organized by the Provincial Political School had the 3 best lecturers selected from faculties and departments in the whole school participating. With 2 parts of the contest, including writing lesson plans and teaching in class, the lecturers calmly and confidently demonstrated their abilities. The class lecture conveyed the full, correct, and scientific content of the lecture, demonstrating a deep understanding of the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; promptly updating new policies according to the requirements of the contest. The lecture was innovative and proficient in applying a number of teaching methods that promote the activeness of learners such as screening methods, visual methods, question-and-answer methods, etc., creating a lively atmosphere for the lecture.

Lecturer Nguyen Thi Mai, Faculty of Basic Theory, shared: “To improve the quality of teaching, as well as attract students, I always set the goal of completing assigned tasks with the highest efficiency. I myself must always practice, strive, and seek new knowledge and lively teaching methods so that the lessons must arouse the spirit and motivation of students to learn.”

Mr. To Van Son, Vice Principal of the Provincial Political School, said that the “Excellent Lecturer” contest is an opportunity for lecturers to improve their knowledge, demonstrate creativity in teaching methods and innovate lecture content, enriching the approaches to knowledge for students; thereby contributing to improving communication skills and the ability to handle situations in the classroom. The contest is also the basis for the school to assess the actual qualifications and teaching capacity of the teaching staff, thereby finding solutions to improve the quality of training and fostering the teaching staff to meet the requirements and tasks.

As a result, all 3 candidates were recognized as excellent teachers at the school level; of which 2 lecturers achieved the title of excellent teachers, representing the school to participate in the national "Excellent Teachers" competition in 2025 organized by the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics in Hai Phong City.

Create a playground and practice theory

The 2024 Political Theory Student Competition took place in a very exciting atmosphere. The cheerleaders were students from all classes who cheered enthusiastically. There were 5 teams with 15 contestants representing intermediate political theory classes studying at the school participating in the competition. Contestants participating in the competition must have an average score of 7.0 or higher.

Participating in the contest, candidates went through 2 parts including quick answers and presentations. The contest content was knowledge about Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh thought; history of the Communist Party of Vietnam under the training program for leaders and managers at the grassroots level (intermediate LLCT system) according to Decision No. 292-QD/HVCTQG, dated January 21, 2022 of the Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics.

After convincing competitions and the encouragement of many students, the 5 teams performed very well when all 5 teams were recognized with the title of "Excellent LLCT Students". With a score of 18.3, the LLCT Intermediate Team K99 won first prize at this year's competition. Student Nguyen Thi Thu Trang, LLCT Intermediate Class K99, Provincial Political School, shared: "The competition creates a playground as well as a place for students to practice the theories they have learned. I personally enjoy this competition very much. I have learned a lot of knowledge and experience through the competition".

Evaluating the results of the two competitions, Mr. Phan Cong Thanh, Vice Principal of the Provincial Political School, said that in recent years, in addition to directing the improvement of the quality of the teaching staff, the school's Board of Directors has identified improving the quality of students' research and study of Political Theory as one of the very important tasks and solutions; including organizing class observation activities, teaching demonstrations for lecturers, and discussion and practical research activities for students.

Through the contest, the emulation movement of "Teaching well, learning well" is promoted, promoting advanced models, creating motivation for the development of training and fostering cadres of the locality and the school. The school also evaluates the actual teaching and learning of political theory to continue to develop and perfect the plan to train the teaching staff, innovate the content and methods of teaching and learning, improve the quality of training and fostering cadres of the school in the current period and in the future, as well as help students find effective learning methods, in order to improve the quality of learning political theory.
