(NLĐO) - On the afternoon of June 1st, many candidates at the examination centers assessed the foreign language exam for admission to 10th grade as being of moderate difficulty, closely aligned with their review material, and helping them confidently complete the exam.

After completing the 90-minute foreign language exam on the afternoon of June 1st, many candidates at the Thu Duc High School exam center (Thu Duc Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) commented that the exam had a familiar structure and did not include many new question types. Many students said the exam was manageable, closely followed the review material, and they were quite confident about their results.

The exam consisted of 40 questions across four knowledge sections: phonetics; vocabulary, grammar, and communication; writing; and reading comprehension. At the Thu Duc High School exam center, most candidates left the exam room feeling relaxed. Many students felt the exam closely followed the content they had reviewed in class and the practice tests they had taken beforehand.

Le Thi Ngoc Han said the exam was of moderate difficulty, with a familiar structure and not many unexpected questions. "The exam wasn't too difficult nor too easy, quite similar to the types of questions I had studied before. I'm about 90% confident," Han shared.

The radiant smiles of the candidates after completing the foreign language exam show that many confidently predict they will receive a "shower" of perfect scores in this year's 10th grade entrance exam.

Meanwhile, two students from Truong Thanh Secondary School (Long Phuoc Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), Nguyen Bao Tin and Vu Minh Khang, commented that this year's exam was quite easy. "The questions were similar to the ones we reviewed, and some were even easier, so we are quite confident with our answers," the two students said.

Some candidates rated the rewriting section as the easiest to score well on, while the reading comprehension section was slightly more difficult. This aligns with the exam's focus on assessing language skills in real-world contexts.

During the crucial moments of the exam, parents remained by their children's side (at the Trung Vuong High School and Thu Duc High School exam centers).

Not only were parents by their children's side outside the exam site, but many older siblings and relatives were also present to provide moral support to the candidates. Tran Pham Thao Ngan said she proactively prepared drinks and snacks for her younger sibling before the exam. "I bought water and snacks for my sibling to relax their mind and do better on the exam," Ngan shared.

That companionship helped the candidates maintain a relaxed mindset when entering the exam room. Pham Quoc Dat (Hoa Lu Secondary School - Tang Nhon Phu Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) - Ngan's cousin, said that with a stable mindset after the Literature exam in the morning, he entered the Foreign Language exam quite confidently. "The first 14 multiple-choice questions were quite easy, the true/false part was a little more difficult; thanks to the Literature exam in the morning being manageable, I'm confident I'll get 10 points in the Foreign Language exam this afternoon," Dat said.
