At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong said that Da Nang is being allowed by the central government to pilot many mechanisms aimed at developing into a major socio -economic center of Southeast Asia; focusing on logistics, high technology, semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), digital economy and innovation.
Regarding cooperation with Belarus, city leaders informed that the two sides had signed several agreements many years ago. Currently, the city is coordinating with the Belarusian Embassy in Hanoi to promote the re-signing of the Cooperation Agreement between the People's Committee of Da Nang City and Mogilev Province, based on the document signed in 2014.
In the coming period, the city requests the Consulate General of the Republic of Belarus to support the opening of charter flights to Da Nang; to strengthen cultural and tourism exchanges; and to introduce businesses to explore investment and import/export opportunities.
Alexander Sidoruk, Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Ho Chi Minh City, highly appreciated Da Nang's role as an economic and tourism hub in Central Vietnam, viewing the city as a potential partner to promote inter-regional cooperation between the two countries.
According to Mr. Alexander Sidoruk, despite the changes in administrative boundaries, Mogilev province remains interested in promoting the renewal of the agreement with Da Nang.
