According to Project Management Board 85, Long Thanh airport is currently implementing the construction of the foundation leveling, the amount of soil excavated during this process is relatively large. Project Management Board 85 requests ACV to allow the Board and contractors to research, evaluate the quality, classify and utilize the excess excavated soil at Long Thanh airport to use as fill material for Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway. During the implementation process, Project Management Board 85 will comply with legal regulations, closely coordinate with ACV to effectively use the source of fill material.
Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway is over 53 km long, passing through Dong Nai and Ba Ria - Vung Tau provinces; of which, the section passing through Dong Nai is over 34 km long with a need for about 5.7 million m3 of fill.
Recently, Dong Nai and Project Management Board 85 have coordinated to conduct surveys of fill material mines serving the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway Project. The results show that in Dong Nai, there are only 2 commercial fill material mines in operation, namely Tan Cang 7 mine and Nui Nua mine, with a total remaining reserve of about 1.7 million m3 that can be used for the project. In the short term, the authorities have not been able to grant licenses for fill material mines serving the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway. The reason is that legal regulations are still inadequate and overlapping. Meanwhile, in the near future, units will simultaneously implement excavation and filling of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway, the need for fill material is very urgent.
Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway has a scale of 4 lanes, a design speed of 100 km/h, divided into 3 component projects; in which, component project 1 is invested by Dong Nai, component project 2 is invested by Project Management Board 85, component project 3 is invested by Ba Ria - Vung Tau. On June 18, 3 Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway component projects were simultaneously started. According to the plan, Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway will be basically completed in 2025 and put into synchronous operation in 2026.
