(CLO) Hundreds of people and tourists flocked to the Viem Xa village festival (also known as the Diem village festival) in Hoa Long ward, Bac Ninh city, Bac Ninh province. This is one of the major festivals in the area to honor the value of Quan Ho folk songs of Kinh Bac region.
Diem village is one of the 49 original quan ho villages, the only place with a temple to worship the Queen Mother - the ancestor of quan ho. On the opening day of the festival, hundreds of locals and tourists from all over the country flocked to the festival.
The Diem village festival consists of a ceremony and a festival. The ceremony begins with a flag-running performance, followed by a drum performance, reenacting the story of the Queen giving the order to open the spring festival with a ball-throwing and ball-grabbing performance.
