Urgent evacuation of fishing village near Lam River before storm No. 10 makes landfall
On the morning of September 28, the authorities of Hung Nguyen Nam commune (Nghe An) urgently supported the evacuation of all 8 households with 40 people in Xuan Lam 2 fishing village, who had been living on boats and temporary shacks near the Lam River bank, to safety ashore before storm No. 10 made landfall.

From early morning, the police force, militia and local authorities were present at the scene, helping people clean up their belongings, moor their boats and move them to temporary accommodation. Working groups regularly remind people to anchor their boats securely and coordinate to evacuate to shore before the storm makes landfall. The commune's viewpoint is to not let any household face danger when storms and floods occur. All have been asked to leave high-risk areas before 3:00 p.m. on September 28."
