By mid-January 2026, the working atmosphere at the Na Sam Commune Public Service Center had basically settled into a routine. The unit's office is located in the former inter-agency office of Van Lang District. Ms. Nong Thi Luan, Deputy Director of the Na Sam Commune Public Service Center, said: The center currently has 6 staff members. As a central commune, the unit has many advantages, including a spacious and well-equipped workplace. Immediately after its establishment, the unit proactively advised the Commune People's Committee to issue documents regulating its functions and duties, develop working regulations, and clearly assign responsibilities to each department. As a result, professional activities quickly stabilized.
From the beginning of January 2025 until now, along with organizational stability, the center has coordinated with relevant units to carry out more than 10 tasks in various fields such as: preparing for the beautiful peach blossom tree contest; decorating urban landscapes; reviewing crops and guiding people on disease prevention for crops; reviewing and preventing animal diseases during the severe cold spell; regularly disseminating information through the village's public address system and the commune's electronic news site about prominent political events of the country and the province...
Similar to the Na Sam Commune Public Service Center, according to Plan No. 106 issued by the Provincial People's Committee on October 31, 2025, regarding the establishment of public service units under the commune-level People's Committees providing public services in the fields of culture, sports , media, agricultural extension, land, and environment, the entire province has completed the establishment of 61 commune-level public service centers and they will be operational from January 1, 2026; for the four wards, the existing centers will continue to operate, while also receiving and supplementing some functions and tasks.
Accordingly, over 300 officials were transferred from regional cultural, sports, and media teams and regional agricultural service branches to work at the centers. Depending on the characteristics of the area, each center is assigned 6 to 9 people. The new positions at the commune level also place higher demands on each official, requiring them not only to work in their assigned field but also to proactively improve their overall capacity, advisory skills, coordination skills, and ability to stay close to the grassroots to meet the requirements of the new situation.
Sharing about her current work, Ms. Nong Thi Ngan, a communications officer at the Bang Mac Commune Public Service Center, said: "To meet the demands of my job, I have been improving my professional skills and familiarizing myself with new tasks such as document management and managing the commune's website... Since starting at this new unit, I have carried out communications duties at 12 events, produced one documentary for a conference, and posted 15 news articles on the commune's Facebook fanpage..."
Consolidating public service sectors under a single point of contact at the commune level has brought about significant changes in grassroots operations, especially in remote and disadvantaged areas. Mr. Nguyen Van Thinh, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Ba Son commune, stated: Ba Son is a commune located in an area with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions in the province, with a large geographical area and challenging transportation. The establishment of the Commune Public Service Center has contributed to enhancing proactiveness in organizing and implementing tasks at the commune level. In recent times, the center's staff have played a crucial role in their respective areas of responsibility, proactively monitoring the local situation. For example, shortly after its establishment, the center collaborated with relevant units to organize cultural and artistic activities at the Ba Son market, creating a lively atmosphere and attracting a large number of people to participate.
Based on its initial successes, the model of community-level public service centers is gradually proving its suitability to practical realities. With a streamlined organizational structure and personnel assigned according to their expertise, public services become more accessible to the people. This also serves as an important foundation for communes and wards to continue improving their organization and enhancing the quality of service to the people in the future.
