The school has the following early admission methods:
Method 3 - Admission for Excellent Students (PT3): The admission score is the converted score from the academic results of the entire 10th grade, 11th grade, and the first semester of the 12th grade, with some optional criteria (international English certificate equivalent to IELTS 6.0 or higher, winning a provincial/city-level excellent student award, student from a specialized/gifted school). The maximum score is 100.
Method 4 - Admission based on academic performance in subject combinations (PT4): The admission score is the average score of the subject combination for grades 10, 11, and the first semester of grade 12, with similar criteria as above, and a maximum of 100 points.
Method 5 - Admission based on the aptitude test scores organized by the Ho Chi Minh City National University in the first round of 2024 (PT5): the main admission score is equal to the test score, with a maximum of 1,200 points.
The results show that the admission scores for 56 training programs increased significantly compared to 2023.
Specifically, the cutoff scores for method 3 ranged from 48-83, with the highest increase being 11 points; method 4 had cutoff scores from 49-85 points, with the highest increase being 9 points; and method 5 ranged from 800-995, with the highest increase being 40 points.
The ASEAN Co-op and Talented Undergraduate Programs scored 72-73 points.
In Vinh Long , the score ranges for methods 3 and 4 are 49 and 40 respectively, an increase of 1-8 points compared to 2023, and the range for method 5 is 550-650, an increase of 50 points.
Associate Professor Bui Quang Hung, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, said that the average admission scores for methods 3 and 4 show that most successful candidates meet three criteria: being excellent students or better; possessing an English certificate or provincial/city-level academic achievement award; and attending specialized or gifted schools.
Notably, this year, nearly half of the admitted candidates achieved an English proficiency level equivalent to IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL iBT 73 or higher.

According to an analysis by the Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, the admission scores reflect three trends in major choices among the current generation of students.
Majors with high admission scores include logistics and supply chain management, digital communication and multimedia design, marketing, international business, finance, corporate accounting, auditing, economics, etc.
In particular, logistics and supply chain management continued to have the highest benchmark scores across all three methods and at both locations (the benchmark scores for the three methods were 83-85-995 at the Ho Chi Minh City location and 49-48-650 at the Vinh Long location, respectively).
The fields of study that attract a large number of interested applicants include marketing technology, financial technology, digital business, logistics technology, robotics & artificial intelligence, ArtTech - art technology, intelligent control & automation…
In particular, ArtTech - a completely new training program - offered for the first time in Vietnam, has received great attention and has high admission scores (65 points for PT3, 44 and 900 points for PT5).
The group of specialized fields of study that hold an important position in the national labor market, such as agricultural business, public administration, public finance, political economy, hospital management, etc., have seen an increase in the number of applicants compared to previous years, with the average cut-off scores increasing slightly by 3-5 points.
