On August 22, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Admissions Council announced the benchmark scores for 2025.

Specific benchmarks for each industry are as follows:

This year, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy has a benchmark score of 17 - 27.34 points. The highest score is Medicine with 27.34 points (last year 27.8 points). The lowest score is Public Health with 17 points (last year 21.45 points).

This year, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy will recruit more than 2,500 students through the following methods: direct admission, considering high school graduation exam scores, considering a combination of high school graduation exam scores and international certificates, and university preparation.

According to the school's announcement, the Medicine and Dentistry majors have the highest minimum score of 22 points. Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy both receive applications from 19 points, the remaining majors are 17 points. This is the total score of 3 subjects in the admission combination including priority points (not including bonus points).

In 2025, the number of candidates and registration wishes both increased sharply. Nationwide, there were more than 7.6 million registered wishes, accounting for more than 73% of the total number of candidates. On average, each candidate registered nearly 9 wishes. The number of candidates registering for admission also skyrocketed by more than 115,000 compared to 2024, partly due to vocational colleges participating in the common admission system.

The benchmark score is more difficult to predict than previous years, which is the general opinion of many universities in this year's virtual filtering process, due to major changes in the way it is organized and implemented.
