According to Mr. Tan Van Vuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, a new feature this year is that the tourism industry is organizing a series of activities to welcome and experience Tet for tourist groups at the park on the south bank of the west side of the Dragon Bridge.
Simultaneously organizing welcoming activities for tourists at the airport gateway, Tien Sa port area, and city center demonstrates proactiveness and professionalism in organizing, serving, and enhancing the experience for tourists from the moment they arrive in Da Nang.
“We not only bring a vibrant festive atmosphere but also introduce the traditional Tet culture through conical hats and gift boxes of banh chung and banh tet (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes)…,” Mr. Vuong said. Along with the city center, tourist areas and attractions in the region have innovated their activities to enhance the visitor experience.
At Sun World Ba Na Hills tourist area, millions of tulips are being planted and displayed to welcome the spring, creating vibrant "flower paths in the clouds." Beyond just taking photos, visitors can feel like they're strolling through a miniature Europe during the first days of the new year. The Tet (Lunar New Year) atmosphere at Ba Na Hills is also expanded to include a four-season park model, taking visitors on a journey to explore four different regions, each with its own unique experience.

The Than Tai Mountain Hot Spring Park tourist area is organizing the Than Tai Festival 2026 with the theme "Journey to Prosperity," offering a vibrant, culturally rich, and positive-energy spring travel experience for locals and tourists.
With a focus on festival-based experiences and connection, the 2026 God of Wealth Festival is a large-scale event with a rich series of activities, combining familiar folk cultural activities such as asking for calligraphy from a traditional calligrapher, picking lucky branches at the beginning of the year, enjoying Bài Chòi (a traditional Vietnamese folk game), folk games, printing Đông Hồ paintings, etc., creating a vibrant, joyful, and colorful spring festival atmosphere.
Spreading the image of Da Nang
Visiting Da Nang in the early days of the Lunar New Year 2026 (Year of the Horse), Ms. Mercedita Manzano (a tourist from the Philippines) had the opportunity to experience picking lucky branches, participate in folk games, and sample traditional Da Nang dishes such as kumquat jam and rice cakes.
This visitor happily shared: “My family was looking for a place to travel at the beginning of the new year, and friends and relatives recommended Da Nang as a truly worthwhile destination. Indeed, upon arriving, I was very impressed by the city's beautiful and modern scenery. During our week-long stay in Da Nang, we visited Hoi An Ancient Town and Ba Na Hills. This was a memorable trip for my family, and I will definitely share my experience of Da Nang with my friends.”
The area around Bach Dang Street, Han Market, and the Chicken Church has been bustling with international tourists, especially from South Korea, in recent days. Park Seojun shared that arriving in Da Nang during the traditional Lunar New Year allowed him to experience a very special atmosphere, with streets brightly decorated with flowers and people dressed beautifully as they strolled through. "This is also an opportunity for me to learn more about the traditional culture of the people of Da Nang in particular and Vietnam in general," Park Seojun said.

In Hoi An ancient town, thousands of domestic and international tourists visit daily to celebrate the New Year. Ms. Nguyen Quynh Tram (from Quang Ngai province) said that her family chooses Hoi An for their vacation every year. For her, every street corner here is not only a place to capture family memories but also a place of warmth, familiarity, and closeness.
“Despite the large crowds, it’s truly beautiful and romantic here. I really enjoyed the experience of sitting on a boat on the Hoai River, releasing lanterns, and wishing for a peaceful and lucky new year. I think Da Nang, with its dynamism, modernity, and cultural depth, will surely continue to attract domestic and international tourists,” Ms. Tram shared.
Building destinations rich in unique identity.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in order to continue attracting and serving international tourists to visit and travel in the city in 2026 and the following years, the tourism industry is proactively implementing a promotion plan in key international markets of Da Nang city.
This includes focusing on innovating forms and diversifying promotional channels to attract tourists from key markets such as Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, Australia, India, Europe, and the Chinese market.
The city continues to step up its promotional efforts to open new flight routes to Da Nang, such as those from Indonesia, India, Australia, and from Chinese markets.
At the same time, coordinate with relevant units to promote the opening of charter flights from Russia and the CIS market to Da Nang city in the summer of 2026.
Mr. Tan Van Vuong shared that a new aspect of Da Nang's tourism development orientation in 2026 is building a distinctive image of Da Nang, rich in identity. Accordingly, the tourism industry has launched a stimulus program themed "Da Nang - Touching the Original" to provide tourists with authentic and emotional experiences of cultural heritage, natural beauty, and unique tourism products and services.

"The Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026 saw positive results in terms of cruise ship tourists visiting Da Nang, indicating that this segment is recovering and growing well."
In the coming period, the city will continue to promote the market, improve the quality of products and services, and strengthen links with shipping companies, seaports, and international travel businesses to attract more cruise ships and tourists to Da Nang.
"The positive signals from the international tourist market right from the beginning of 2026 open up prospects for sustainable growth for Da Nang tourism, thereby contributing to promoting socio-economic development and aiming for double-digit growth for the city in the coming time," Mr. Vuong added.
