Phu Tho province is proud to be a land with a rich historical and cultural tradition, a place of intersection and convergence of many ethnic groups, in which ethnic minorities account for over 1 million people in the total population of the province of more than 4 million people. In recent years, prestigious people among ethnic minorities have been the bridge between the Party, the State and the people, playing a truly important role, affirming that prestige comes from the heart but is also the support of the people.

Bridge between the Party's will and the people's hearts

Quang Cu village, Hop Ly commune has 240 households with 970 people, of which 2/3 are San Diu ethnic people who have lived there for a long time. In 2023, Quang Cu village was selected to build a model cultural village. Mr. Luu Van Be (San Diu ethnic person), as a prestigious person, Party Cell Secretary, Village Chief, has promoted and mobilized cadres, party members, and people in the village to voluntarily donate land and contribute working days in the spirit of "The State and the People work together" to build the Quang Cu Cultural and Sports Institution Area with an area of ​​1 hectare and expand the 2 km long inner-village road from 3.5 m to 7 m. To mobilize people to agree with the policy, and also to be a pioneer in the movement, Mr. Be broke down the fence to donate land to widen the road. Following Mr. Be's example, more than 50 households in the village voluntarily donated about 8,000 square meters of land, typically the families of Mr. Diep Van Sau, Luc Xuan Thu, Luu Van Sinh, Luu Thai Hoa... creating conditions for investment in the construction of cultural institutions and clean, beautiful inner-village roads.

Also a pioneer in grassroots activities and movements, Mr. Hoang Van Nhat, Cao Lan ethnic group in Zone 7, Chan Mong commune, has always been exemplary, leading the way, mobilizing people to participate in local patriotic emulation movements such as "All people build cultural life in residential areas", "All people protect national security", and the movement "the whole country joins hands to build new rural areas". Therefore, in recent years, the economy of households and many households in the area has had encouraging developments, culture and society have made much progress, people's lives have been constantly improved, and security has been maintained.

Promote the role of prestigious people

According to statistics, there are currently a total of 2,169 prestigious people in the province. The Provincial Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee have always paid attention to promoting the role of prestigious people among ethnic minorities, directing all levels and sectors to carry out the mobilization work well and considering this as an extension of the government, a bridge between ethnic minorities and Party committees and authorities, contributing to building the trust of ethnic minorities in the Party and the State. At the same time, they have directed relevant agencies, departments, branches and People's Committees of communes and wards to coordinate and implement well the policies for prestigious people among ethnic minorities.

It can be affirmed that the policy towards prestigious people is a correct policy, a concretization of the Party's guidelines and the State's laws and policies on ethnic issues and ethnic affairs; demonstrating the Party and State's concern for ethnic minorities in general, and prestigious people among ethnic minorities in particular. In addition, it is affirmed that prestigious people among ethnic minorities have an extremely important position and role in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. Prestigious people are truly the core force, an important bridge between Party committees and authorities at all levels and ethnic minorities in propagating and mobilizing ethnic minorities to comply with the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies, participate in socio-economic development, maintain security and order and unite ethnic groups.

Organize training activities, knowledge enhancement, provide information documents, meetings, seminars, exchange activities, learn from experiences for prestigious people... to improve capacity, ability to receive information for prestigious people and prestigious core forces to meet the requirements of performing assigned tasks. Support and create material conditions, timely encourage and have appropriate protection measures in the work of mobilizing and promoting the role of prestigious people in all areas of social life.
