On the evening of July 20, the Vietnam U23 team returned to the training ground in Indonesia after the opening match, winning 3-0 against Laos U23 at the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship.
In this training session, the players played the full 90 minutes against U23 Laos and only jogged around the training ground before resting and recovering.
Meanwhile, the remaining players are still actively practicing tactics, preparing for the semi-final match against U23 Cambodia in the last round of Group B taking place on July 22.
Despite the 3-0 win over U23 Laos, coach Kim Sang Sik still cannot be confident with the attack of the U23 Vietnam team. Because the 3 goals were scored by captain midfielder Khuat Van Khang and center back Hieu Minh (double) instead of the strikers.

Therefore, coach Kim Sang Sik paid special attention to Quoc Viet - the striker who left the field after the end of the first half - for most of the remaining time of the training session on the evening of July 20.
He directly demonstrated some running and finishing situations with Quoc Viet to help his main striker score in the next match.
Notably, in this training session, striker Nguyen Dinh Bac left the session halfway due to injury. Immediately, the player of the Hanoi Police Club was called out to the middle of the field by coach Kim Sang Sik for a detailed examination.
The Korean coach talked for a long time with the team doctor about Dinh Bac's injury and then decided to let the 21-year-old striker practice separately.
It is known that Dinh Bac's injury is not too serious. He only suffered muscle overload and can return to practice with the team tomorrow (July 21) to prepare for the match against U23 Cambodia.
Just need to draw with U23 Cambodia, U23 Vietnam team will win first place in group B.
