Doai Phuong: Many gratitude activities on July 27

On the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Doai Phuong commune held many activities to honor heroic martyrs, families of policy beneficiaries, and people with meritorious services in the area.

Practically demonstrating the morality of “When drinking water, remember its source” and “Repaying gratitude”, on July 25, the leaders of Doai Phuong commune organized an incense offering ceremony at 3 cemeteries: Kim Son, Son Dong and Co Dong. In the evening of the same day, the commune’s Youth Union organized a candle lighting ceremony to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs.

The People's Committee of Doai Phuong commune also provided 325 gifts, each worth 200,000 VND, with a total cost of 65 million VND from the "Repaying gratitude" Fund of Doai Phuong commune, to people with meritorious services and relatives of martyrs who are receiving monthly preferential allowances.

Previously, the leaders of Doai Phuong commune visited 10 families of meritorious people in the area, including war invalids, sick soldiers, and resistance fighters infected with toxic chemicals with a body injury rate of 81% or more in the area, and presented each case with a gift worth 800,000 VND.

Military agencies and units stationed in the commune also visited and presented gifts to 56 families of meritorious people and martyrs' relatives in the commune, each gift worth 500,000 VND.

The Air Defense - Air Force Academy organized the handover of 80 million VND in funding to support the construction of a house of gratitude for the family of Mr. Nguyen Van Bao, born in 1952, a resistance fighter who was exposed to toxic chemicals and resides in Nha Tho village.

These are good traditional activities of the nation, actively implemented by the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee of the commune and military units stationed in the area. Thereby, adding confidence and motivation for families to overcome difficulties, continue to promote revolutionary traditions, and set an example in participating in building the increasingly developed homeland; at the same time, educating traditions, raising awareness and responsibility of the younger generation, cadres and soldiers, in implementing the military rear policy and further strengthening the military-civilian relationship in the locality.
