The delegation visited, extended New Year greetings, and presented gifts to monks and influential figures among the Khmer ethnic community in Chau Thanh, Ke Sach, and My Tu districts, as well as Bon Mat Pagoda (Phu Tan commune, Chau Thanh district). Accompanying the delegation were leaders from the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial Fatherland Front , the Provincial Ethnic Affairs Committee, and leaders from Chau Thanh district.
In Chau Thanh district, meeting with senior monks, abbots, and influential figures among the Khmer ethnic community, Deputy Minister and Vice Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Minorities Affairs, Nong Thi Ha, expressed her joy and enthusiasm at the positive contributions of the abbots, senior monks, and influential figures in Soc Trang in socio -economic development, building cultural life, and new rural areas in the locality; disseminating policies and laws, integrating religion with life, and maintaining national unity…
Deputy Minister and Vice Chairman Nong Thi Ha, along with the delegation, presented 100 gifts to abbots, senior monks, and influential figures in Chau Thanh, My Tu, and Ke Sach districts.
Ms. Nong Thi Ha expressed her wish that the Khmer people would preserve and promote the traditions and cultural identity of their ethnic group, effectively implement the policies and guidelines of the Party and the State, maintain security and order, and strengthen national unity; actively engage in production and labor, and encourage their children to study for a better future.
On behalf of the leadership of the Committee for Ethnic Minorities Affairs, the Deputy Minister and Vice Chairman wished all the abbots, senior monks, respected figures, and Khmer people a happy, joyful, and safe New Year; and encouraged the Khmer people to work together with the local government to successfully implement ethnic programs and policies, especially the National Target Program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period 2021-2030.
