On April 6, the working delegation of the Ethnic Committee led by Deputy Minister and Vice Chairman Nong Thi Ha visited and celebrated Chol Chnam Thmay with the Khmer ethnic people in Soc Trang province.

The delegation visited, wished a happy new year and presented gifts to monks and prestigious people of the Khmer ethnic group in Chau Thanh, Ke Sach, My Tu districts and the Four-Faced Pagoda (Phu Tan commune, Chau Thanh district). The delegation was also accompanied by leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, Fatherland Front, Provincial Ethnic Committee and leaders of Chau Thanh district.

In Chau Thanh district, meeting with senior monks, nuns and prestigious people among the Khmer ethnic group in the localities, Deputy Minister, Vice Chairwoman of the Ethnic Committee Nong Thi Ha expressed her joy and excitement at the positive contributions of the senior monks, nuns, and prestigious people in Soc Trang in socio-economic development, building cultural life and new rural areas in the locality; propagating legal policies, combining religion with life, maintaining the great national unity bloc...

Deputy Minister, Vice Chairman Nong Thi Ha and the delegation presented 100 gifts to monks, nuns, and prestigious people in Chau Thanh, My Tu, and Ke Sach districts.

Ms. Nong Thi Ha hopes that the Khmer people will preserve and promote the traditions and cultural identity of the nation, well implement the policies of the Party and State, maintain security and order and strengthen the great national unity bloc; actively work in production, encourage their children to study for a better future.

On behalf of the leaders of the Ethnic Committee, the Deputy Minister and Vice Chairman wished all the monks, venerable monks, prestigious people and Khmer people a happy, joyful and safe new year; encouraged Khmer people to work with local authorities to successfully implement ethnic programs and policies, especially the National Target Program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period 2021-2030.
