On September 11, during the voyage to visit and encourage the islands in the Southwest Sea and the DK1/10 platform in 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City delegation visited and encouraged the forces and people of Tho Chu island, presented many meaningful gifts, and strengthened the military-civilian relationship.
The working delegation led by Rear Admiral Do Van Yen, Deputy Political Commissar of the Navy and Mr. Le Hoang Hai, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, visited Radar Station 610, Regiment 551, Naval Region 5, on Tho Chu Island.
Accompanying were leaders of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and representatives of many agencies, units, businesses, artists, and reporters.
On behalf of the delegation, Ms. Dinh Thi Thanh Thuy - Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee - encouraged and expressed gratitude to the officers, soldiers and forces who are working day and night to maintain the sovereignty of the sea and islands.
"I believe that the officers, soldiers and people of Tho Chu island have been and will continue to coordinate better and stronger to ensure the sovereignty and sovereign rights of the Fatherland. For their part, each member of the working delegation, when coming here, will be enriched with more faith, love and pride in the sacred lands of the Fatherland.
When returning, we will take the most practical actions to continue to be one of the leading localities towards the borders, seas and islands of the Fatherland, and to carry out well the military rear work so that comrades can continue to work with peace of mind," said Ms. Thuy.
On this occasion, the delegation of Ho Chi Minh City presented many meaningful gifts worth 70 million VND to the forces on the island.
Of which, Radar Station 610 received a gift worth more than 26.6 million VND along with the project "Improving the quality of propaganda" worth 50 million VND, 125 national flags and maps of the country donated by Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper and Sai Gon Giai Phong newspaper.
10 households on the island were also given gifts, each household received 2 million VND in cash.
The Navy Command, the Region 5 Command and many businesses accompanying the delegation also donated equipment, necessities, televisions, water purifiers, seeds, etc., contributing to improving the lives of officers, soldiers and people on remote islands.
