At the event, Master Pham Hong Thai - Director of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park and Mr. Tran Thanh Toan, former Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Quang Binh province respectfully received the dossier. This is not only a valuable document, but also a symbol of gratitude to the past, inspiring responsibility today and vision for the future.

After receiving the original dossier, the National Park Management Board affirmed: Phong Nha – Ke Bang does not stop at the heritage title, but is striving towards a new goal – achieving the “Green List” standard of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

The “Green List” is a set of strict criteria, evaluating a heritage site based on its effectiveness in biodiversity conservation, transparency in management, community participation and ability to adapt to climate change. Currently, the number of listed heritage sites in the world is very limited. If successful, Phong Nha – Ke Bang will become a bright spot of Vietnam in the global conservation network.

To prepare for this goal, the National Park has been implementing many specific action programs according to international standards: strengthening ecosystem monitoring, sustainable forest management, strictly protecting rare species, linking conservation with ecotourism development and community livelihoods.

Along with that, communication and education activities are promoted such as: hanging banners and propaganda slogans; organizing environmental sanitation, collecting waste; raising awareness for tourists and people. These practical activities not only create a green - clean - beautiful appearance for Phong Nha - Ke Bang, but also demonstrate the determination to integrate with international standards.

Aiming for the “Green List” is not only the aspiration of the National Park, but also has special significance for Quang Tri province in: Affirming its position on the world heritage and tourism map; Attracting more international cooperation, research resources and conservation support; Creating momentum for sustainable tourism development, increasing socio-economic values; Contributing to improving community life, promoting green livelihood models, reducing pressure on resource exploitation.

From the past milestones preserved in the original records, to the future aspirations with the “Green List” standard, Phong Nha – Ke Bang is continuing to write the heritage story with pride, responsibility and sustainable vision for future generations.
