In early September, Y Tý ( Lao Cai ) seems to enter a grand festival of nature. At an altitude of approximately 2,000 meters above sea level, the area is ablaze with the golden hues of ripening rice.

From all directions, people flock to what is known as the "most beautiful terraced rice field paradise in Northwest Vietnam" to admire the rare spectacle created by both nature and human hands.

Looking down from the Ngai Thau slope or the Choan Then village, the rice fields stretch one after another, cascading down the mountain slopes, undulating softly like spreading golden waves.

The early morning mist hung thick, and the sunlight filtering through created a scene that was both majestic and dreamlike.

This is also the moment when many tourists are willing to travel long distances and endure hardships just to witness it firsthand.

Besides its beautiful scenery, Y Tý also captivates tourists with the genuine hospitality of its local people. Taking a break from working in the fields, Ms. Ly Thi Po, a local resident, happily shared: "This year's rice harvest is bountiful, the grains are firm and ripened evenly. Seeing so many tourists come to take pictures makes us happy too, because that's how Y Tý becomes more widely known."

Compared to previous years, the road to Y Tý is now more convenient, with cars able to reach the center of the commune, making it much easier for tourists. Homestays have also been invested in and are more spacious, meeting the needs for rest and enjoyment of local cuisine . As a result, the golden season in Y Tý has become an unmissable destination for young people who love travel and exploration.

According to experienced visitors, the best time to admire Y Tý during its golden season is from late August to mid-September.

Just a few weeks later, the farmers will harvest, and the golden yellow will quickly give way to brown fields. Therefore, many tourists rush to visit early to avoid missing this "golden moment" of the year.
