At the meeting, the delegation watched a report and heard an introduction about the functions, tasks, traditions, and outstanding achievements of the Vietnam Coast Guard and the Coast Guard Region 2 Command. The delegation of young officers of the Lao People's Army was guided by young officers of the Coast Guard Region 2 Command to visit and learn about the facilities, activities of the unit and the Coast Guard ships at the military port of the Region Command.

Speaking at the meeting, Colonel Le Huy, Political Commissar of Coast Guard Region 2, affirmed: Vietnam and Laos are two neighboring countries, two brotherly peoples, but more than that, they are also two friends, comrades, sharing the joys and sorrows, together overcoming many ups and downs of history. The meeting and exchange between young officers of Coast Guard Region 2 and the Young Officers of the Lao People's Army is a meaningful activity, strengthening the spirit of solidarity and unity of the two peoples as well as of the young officers of the Lao Army and the young officers of the Region Command.

On behalf of the young officers of the Lao People's Army, Colonel Hong Thoong Si Sa Non, Head of the Youth Department of the Lao People's Army, thanked the thoughtful and respectful reception of the Command of Coast Guard Region 2. At the same time, he hoped that through the visit, the young officers of the Lao People's Army would better understand the traditions, functions and tasks of the Vietnam Coast Guard, the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos, in order to strengthen solidarity and mutual understanding between young officers of the two countries, contributing to preserving and developing the comprehensive, sustainable and long-term cooperative relationship between the State, people and armies of the two countries.
