Naval Region 1 proactively responds to storm Ragasa

Faced with the complex and unpredictable developments of storm No. 9 (Ragasa), Naval Region 1 has been actively implementing prevention, response and response measures to ensure the highest safety for officers, soldiers and people in the area.

With the spirit of “proactive, timely, effective,” the Command of Region 1 has directed its subordinate units to seriously maintain forces and means ready to mobilize when ordered. Agencies and units regularly update news, forecasts, warnings, and grasp the developments, paths, and levels of storms to have plans and response plans, ensuring the ability to respond quickly when an emergency occurs.

One of the key tasks is to move and anchor all vessels in the Region safely. Accordingly, units have urgently maneuvered vessels to storm shelters as planned; at the same time, implemented measures to tie and anchor securely. Housing areas, warehouses, and barracks have also been reinforced and carefully secured with sandbags and ropes, ensuring that they are not damaged by strong winds.

The work of dredging the flow, dredging sewers and ditches was also urgently carried out to minimize flooding in the military areas. This is one of the important proactive measures to help ensure the safety of the unit's facilities.

In addition, Naval Region 1 also actively supported local people in storm prevention. Officers and soldiers closely coordinated with local authorities, helping people to reinforce houses, boats and aquaculture cages. Many households were supported to harvest fish and aquatic products in time, avoiding major damage caused by the storm.
