Naval Region 1 proactively responds to storm Ragasa

Faced with the complex and unpredictable developments of storm No. 9 (Ragasa), Naval Region 1 has been actively implementing prevention, response and response measures to ensure the highest safety for officers, soldiers and people in the area.

With the spirit of "proactive, timely, and effective," the Command of Region 1 directed its subordinate units to strictly maintain forces and equipment ready for deployment upon order. Agencies and units regularly updated news, forecasts, and warnings, closely monitoring the development, path, and intensity of the storm to develop response plans and ensure rapid rescue capabilities in case of emergencies.

One of the key tasks was the safe relocation and anchoring of all vessels in the region. Accordingly, units promptly moved vessels to designated storm shelters as planned; at the same time, they implemented measures to secure and anchor them firmly. Houses, warehouses, and barracks were also carefully reinforced and braced with sandbags and ropes to ensure they were not damaged by strong winds.

Efforts to clear waterways and dredge drains and ditches are also being carried out urgently to minimize flooding in troop deployment areas. This is one of the important proactive measures to ensure the safety of the unit's facilities.

In addition, the Naval Region 1 actively supported the local population in storm prevention and control efforts. Officers and soldiers closely coordinated with local authorities, deploying forces to help people reinforce their houses, secure boats and aquaculture cages. Many households received timely assistance in harvesting fish and other aquatic products, avoiding significant losses caused by the storm.

The practical and prompt actions of the Naval Region 1 have earned the trust and high praise of superiors and local authorities. This meticulous preparation not only demonstrates a spirit of combat readiness but also clearly reflects the close bond between the military and the people, contributing to minimizing the damage caused by Typhoon Ragasa.
