Doan Thuy Trang is no longer a strange name to Vietnamese audiences. From the Sao Mai Champion title to the hit "Tinh yeu mau nang" reaching over 100 million views on YouTube, she was once a phenomenon in the Vietnamese music industry. However, that halo also brought great pressure when the following products did not meet expectations, causing her to be labeled as a "one-hit wonder".
In an unprecedented event, Doan Thuy Trang announced plans to release 9 MVs for all the songs in her latest album “Hoa, May, Mua” within just 10 days, starting from February 20, creating an impressive record in the number and speed of MV releases.
The album “Hoa, May, Mua” contains 9 songs, each song was turned into an independent MV by Doan Thuy Trang, released continuously within 10 days. This is the first time in the history of Vpop, an artist has implemented such a dense release strategy, creating an incredible record in terms of time and number of MVs. Every day, the audience will enjoy a new product, promising to bring a series of " musical gifts" full of surprises and continuous expectations.
“Hoa, May, Mua” is not only a music album but also an emotional journey through 9 different love stories. From the sweetness of “Hoa”, the vagueness of “May” to the lingering sadness of “Mua”, each MV will open up a separate perspective, helping the audience fully feel the depth and diversity of love. This is how Doan Thuy Trang affirms her unique artistic style, going beyond the limits of a singer associated with only one hit.
Making 9 MVs was not an easy task. Doan Thuy Trang, director Vu Tung Lam and the crew had to overcome many challenges, including filming underwater scenes in the cold weather of the North. However, with constant efforts, every member of the crew devoted their all to completing high-quality products. Doan Thuy Trang shared: “We are truly happy to be able to do art. I love my job more than ever.”
It was the dedication of the crew that helped Doan Thuy Trang achieve a miracle: completing 9 MVs in just 2 days of filming under harsh conditions. To realize this record-breaking product, the female singer collaborated with prominent names in the Vietnamese music industry such as musician Pham Thanh Ha, young musician Tham, producer Hung Doan and Duongk in the post-production stage. Each MV was meticulously crafted to reflect the dedication of the crew.
With the release of the final batch of 9 MVs on March 3, the album “Hoa, May, Mua” by Doan Thuy Trang is not only a record in Vpop but also a special musical gift on the occasion of International Women’s Day, March 8. The songs in the album vividly depict the range of emotions of women in love, from sweet happiness to resilience in overcoming challenges. This is a deep gratitude to the beauty and inner strength of women.
