Vietnam's 2025 Sustainable Development Index reached 73.4/100 - an increase of 27.4% compared to 2015, ranking Vietnam second in Southeast Asia, after Thailand. However, for Vietnam to achieve its sustainable development goals by 2030, with net zero emissions by 2050, businesses need to actively promote the application of innovation and invest in core technology in a green and sustainable direction.
The 12th Vietnam Sustainable Business Forum took place in Hanoi.
Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh - Chairman of the Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development said that there will be a discussion session on how to make businesses more autonomous in their production and business activities, proactively participate and integrate into the global supply chain.
Mr. Binu Jacob - General Director of Nestlé Vietnam said that he has promoted the 3-party cooperation model: State - School - Enterprise. These are practical actions to realize the enterprise's commitment towards a green, inclusive and sustainable future.
Forum with the theme "Sustainable development in the new era: Turning aspirations into actions"
Speaking at the forum, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc affirmed that enterprises are the center of the sustainable development process, and committed that the Government will closely accompany through four strategic priorities: perfecting policies and legal frameworks, investing in strategic infrastructure and renewable energy, promoting green finance and sustainable credit, as well as mobilizing social and international resources to support enterprises in green transformation and business model innovation.
