Businesses are "hunting" for workers after Tet.

With positive signals regarding orders, businesses in the Nghi Son Economic Zone and other industrial parks in Thanh Hoa province are urgently recruiting more workers to organize efficient production and successfully achieve their growth targets.

Businesses are The Provincial Federation of Labor and the Trade Union of the Southern Economic Zone and Industrial Parks welcomed workers back to work after the Lunar New Year holiday.

In the Nghi Son Economic Zone, many businesses are recruiting a large number of workers, such as Nghi Son Steel Joint Stock Company recruiting 779 workers; Annora Vietnam Footwear Company Limited recruiting 680 workers; Huthaco Construction and Trading Services Company Limited recruiting 684 workers... Notably, many businesses in Nghi Son are recruiting for highly skilled and technical positions, such as: Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Company Limited; Northern Vietnam Vegetable Oil Company Limited; Nghi Son 2 Power Company Limited... This is an opportunity for highly qualified and skilled workers in the province to have stable jobs with commensurate income.

In Bim Son Industrial Park and other industrial parks in Thanh Hoa City, many businesses are actively recruiting workers right from the beginning of the year. Businesses are displaying recruitment banners in various areas, posting notices at company gates, sharing information on company fan pages and worker groups on social media, and even participating in job fairs or soliciting referrals from existing employees. However, the supply of workers is still insufficient to meet demand.

Sakurai Vietnam Co., Ltd. has two factories in Le Mon Industrial Park (Thanh Hoa City) and Hoang Hoa District, employing over 12,000 workers. Immediately after the Lunar New Year holiday, the company needs to recruit more than 1,000 workers to boost production and fulfill orders from partners. At Sakurai Hoang Hoa, the company is recruiting 450 workers, with salaries ranging from 6.5 to 16 million VND depending on the job position. According to Nguyen Huu Quang, Chairman of the Trade Union of Sakurai Vietnam Co., Ltd., "With positive signals regarding orders this year, workers will be guaranteed employment and income for the year. Recruited workers will enjoy attractive salaries, full participation in social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance as regulated by the State; they will work in a professional and creative environment and have opportunities for advancement within the company."

Rollsport Vietnam Footwear Co., Ltd. (Hoang Long Industrial Park) currently employs over 20,700 workers. To meet production demands of approximately 28 million pairs of shoes in 2025, a 7-8% increase compared to the same period, the company plans to recruit around 2,000 more workers. Nguyen Van Ty, Chairman of the Rollsport Footwear Co., Ltd. Trade Union, stated: "This year's orders show many positive signs. The company currently needs to recruit over 2,000 more workers to ensure the production target of over 28 million pairs of shoes, a 7-8% increase compared to the same period. In addition to unskilled labor, the company also needs to recruit for 200 positions requiring high-level professional and technical skills."

“Along with recruiting new workers, to improve the welfare and living standards of our employees, we are striving to effectively implement the contents of the collective labor agreement for the group of shoe manufacturing enterprises. The company has allocated 3 billion VND as bonuses for workers on their first day back at the factory; at the same time, we have established a loyalty bonus for employees who have worked at the factory for 11 years or more; we ensure annual leave entitlements and have established a regulation for periodic salary increases for employees, helping workers feel secure and committed to their jobs,” Mr. Ty said.

Currently, the Industrial Parks and Zones of the Vietnam National Economic Zone and Industrial Zones have over 100,000 workers participating in production. The contributions of these workers, together with the businesses, have generated revenue of 281,000 billion VND and export turnover of 3.1 billion USD in 2024. Despite the challenging production and business environment, businesses are still committed to ensuring the rights and benefits of their employees, with the average Tet bonus for the Year of the Snake (2015) being approximately one month's salary.

According to statistics from the Management Board of the Thanh Hoa Economic Zone and Industrial Parks, a review by the unit shows that businesses currently need more than 18,700 workers. Of these, foreign-invested enterprises need to recruit 16,284 workers; domestic-invested enterprises need to recruit 2,435 workers. Specifically, enterprises in the Thanh Hoa Economic Zone need to recruit 3,318 workers; industrial parks in Thanh Hoa City need to recruit 10,778 workers; and enterprises in the Bim Son Industrial Park need to recruit 4,623 workers. Some enterprises have very large labor recruitment needs, such as: Leading Star Vietnam Garment Co., Ltd. (Bim Son Industrial Park) needs to recruit 2,000 workers; Aleron Vietnam Footwear Co., Ltd. needs to recruit 2,000 workers; SunJade Vietnam Footwear Co., Ltd. needs to recruit 1,880 workers...

Chairman of the Trade Union of the Southern Economic Zone and Industrial Parks, Ngo The Anh, shared: “The production and business activities of enterprises are projected to continue to grow positively. Many enterprises have signed large orders, ensuring stable jobs and income for workers, especially those in the textile, garment, and footwear industries. From the beginning of 2025, enterprises in the Southern Economic Zone and industrial parks have proactively developed specific business plans and strategies, coupled with proactively securing human resources to successfully implement their production plans.”

According to the Management Board of the Industrial Parks and Zones, the overall demand for labor in 2025 has increased compared to previous years, but it mainly consists of unskilled and untrained workers, accounting for a large number of 16,182 out of 18,719 applicants, or about 86.4%. While many jobs are created, they are primarily for simple technical jobs such as garment manufacturing and footwear. Meanwhile, the recruitment rate for workers with professional qualifications, work experience, and foreign language skills is quite low, yet this still poses difficulties for businesses because the workers do not meet the recruitment requirements.
