Businesswoman Trinh Thi Ha was born and raised in a poor farming family with eight sisters in Lien Mac commune, Me Linh district ( Hanoi ), but her parents provided her with a full education. A dynamic and strong-willed girl, Trinh Thi Ha dreamed of becoming a successful businesswoman from her high school days.
In 1978, Trinh Thi Ha passed the entrance exam to the University of Construction ( Ministry of Construction ). After five years of diligent study, she graduated and was assigned to work at Construction Company 3-2 (formerly the People's Committee of Me Linh District).
Despite being a recent graduate with no practical experience, working in an environment that matched her training and strengths allowed her to quickly develop her abilities and contribute to the unit's many successes in the construction field.
After nearly a decade working at Construction Company 3-2, she was transferred to Vinh Phu Construction Company No. 1. Working in a new environment demanded greater enthusiasm and broader expertise, but she strived and earned the trust to become Deputy Director and Director of the Infrastructure Construction Enterprise, concurrently serving as Deputy Director and Director of Vinh Phu Construction Company No. 1, a position she held until her retirement in 2015.
Being dynamic, strong-willed, and hardworking, after retirement, Ms. Trinh Thi Ha continued to establish businesses operating in the fields of construction, real estate investment, trade, and tourism, which she directly leads and manages.
At one point, she served as CEO of six businesses simultaneously. With her in-depth expertise, strong character, and experience in the construction and commercial business sectors, the companies she managed all operated efficiently, were profitable, and paid hundreds of billions of dong in taxes to the State annually.
Currently, Ms. Ha directly leads three companies: Chairman and General Director of Than Ha Trading and Construction Co., Ltd.; Chairman of Vinh Phuc No. 1 Construction Joint Stock Company; and Chairman and Director of Tay Duc Joint Stock Company.
These are three companies currently implementing dozens of social housing projects, urban areas, and important infrastructure projects in many localities inside and outside the province, with a total value of trillions of VND, such as the social housing project in Phuc Thang ward (Phuc Yen) with a total investment of over 600 billion VND, which was only started in February 2025; the Nam Phuc Yen urban area, the construction of infrastructure for the Hung Vuong urban area (Phuc Yen) worth over 150 billion VND; and an apartment building in Me Linh district (Hanoi) with more than 700 apartments…
In recent years, the construction sector has faced many difficulties due to rising material and labor costs, but her companies still provide regular employment for nearly 600 workers and almost 200 technical staff and employees with stable incomes.
Despite being busy with her business, businesswoman Trinh Thi Ha always dedicates time to charity through activities such as contributing to the construction of houses for the needy; supporting livelihood creation for poor women; awarding scholarships to poor but studious students; giving gifts to the poor; contributing to funds supporting people affected by natural disasters and those suffering from serious illnesses; and especially for policy beneficiary families and those who have contributed to the revolution, she always prioritizes their well-being with deep understanding and gratitude.
From 2020 to the present, businesswoman Trinh Thi Ha has mobilized workers, employees, and individuals to contribute nearly 1 billion VND to build 32 charitable houses for poor households in Phuc Yen city.
In particular, during the annual Lunar New Year holiday, she has allocated a portion of her business and personal profits to donate hundreds of gifts to families receiving government assistance, poor households, near-poor households, and families in difficult circumstances in Phuc Yen city and some localities inside and outside the province.
At the same time, in response to the "Promoting Education and Talent" and "Shelter of Love" programs launched by organizations in the province and Phuc Yen city, in 2020, Ms. Ha donated money and goods worth more than 1 billion VND to support people in Central Vietnam affected by floods and storms.
Over the two years (2021-2022), Ms. Ha continued to allocate profits from the company and mobilized employees to raise over 2 billion VND to purchase rice, clothing, medicine, and medical supplies to support localities in preventing and controlling the Covid-19 pandemic. During the recent Lunar New Year (Year of the Snake), she spent over 200 million VND to donate gifts to families receiving government assistance, the poor, and disadvantaged veterans, helping them to improve their lives.
For her contributions to local and community development, businesswoman Trinh Thi Ha has received numerous awards and commendations from central and provincial authorities.
Specifically, the company received a Certificate of Commendation from the Provincial Party Committee of Enterprises for "Achievements in studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh in 2011-2013"; the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry awarded it the "Outstanding Vietnamese Businesswoman - Golden Rose Cup" in 2022; and the Than Ha Trading and Construction Company Limited was awarded a flag by the Provincial People's Committee for "Outstanding Unit Leading the Emulation Movement in 2024".
