With nearly 300 pages, the book reveals the behind-the-scenes story of the tour guide profession from an insider's perspective, authentic and rich in experience.

Like other travel books, the author devotes many pages to recording the beauty of the lands he has passed through. The work opens up many stirring dimensions: from the early morning on the Tu Le terraced fields (Vietnam), to the majestic scenery of the red flag with yellow star on the Small Island (Vietnam), then long trips to watch the sunset fall on the ancient stone wall of the Colosseum (Italy), or listen to the sound of horse hooves on the quiet streets of Bagan (Myanmar). Readers also follow the author through unique experiences: the bungee jump of a lifetime in Nepal, viewing Cape Town (South Africa) from mid-air, crossing waterfalls in Sri Lanka, exploring the Fire Mountain (China) - a place that seems to only exist in legends...

In addition, The worn-out shoes are also a vivid career guide, helping young people who are dreaming of pursuing a career in tourism understand more about the joys, challenges and values of the profession. The author writes like a senior, sharing the secrets and philosophy of the profession that he considers a guiding principle: “You need to love the place you go to; because only when you truly love the destination, can you convey information in an emotional way and touch the hearts of tourists.”

Notably, among the secrets to a successful career, author Thi Quoc Duy mentioned the habit of reading as a very important factor. According to the author, reading books helps him gain extensive knowledge, thereby deeply understanding the world around him as well as developing better thinking. The rich vocabulary from reading books helps him improve his ability to express and communicate more professionally. The habit of reading books also helps him know how to control his emotions better, be more patient and calm in many situations.

“For others, reading books may simply be for entertainment, but for tour guides, reading books is a mandatory requirement because you need to have a solid knowledge base as well as a rich vocabulary to do your job better. Books on life skills also help you understand psychology and behavior, help you see things more thoroughly and thoroughly so that you can live more kindly, humbly and lovingly,” author Thi Quoc Duy expressed.

At 9am on November 1, at the Garden in the City - Thao Dien (No. 34, Street No. 11, An Khanh Ward, HCMC), author Thi Quoc Duy will have a meeting and exchange with readers on the occasion of launching the publication Wear-Wearing Shoes .
