(Dan Sinh) - Enhancing knowledge of gender equality to innovate methods of dissemination was a key theme in a competition recently organized by the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Thanh Hoa province in Thach Thanh district.
In response to the "Month of Action for Gender Equality and Prevention of Gender-Based Violence," on the morning of November 10th, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Thanh Hoa province, in coordination with the People's Committee of Thach Thanh district and Thanh An commune, organized a competition to test knowledge about gender equality in 2024.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Anh, Deputy Head of the Department of Children and Gender Equality, Thanh Hoa Provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, said that the competition aims to innovate the methods of disseminating and educating on gender equality laws; equip club members with knowledge and skills related to gender equality, prevention and response to gender-based violence, and child protection.
Establish a network of collaborators and communicators on gender equality and gender-based violence prevention in villages and hamlets, with men playing a leading role.
At the same time, building a gender-non-discriminatory environment in the community contributes to creating an equal social environment, free from violence against women and children in the locality...
The competition featured five teams from five clubs operating in the area, including: the Morning Sunshine Team, the Rice Blossom Team, the Sunflower Team, the Muong Land Flower Team, and the Hope Team.

The participating teams include: the Club for Preventing and Reducing the Harm of Gender-Based Violence; the Men's Club for Pioneering the Prevention of Violence Against Women; the Gender-Based Violence Prevention Team; collaborators and communicators on gender equality and gender-based violence prevention in villages and hamlets; and the general public.
The competition was organized in a theatrical format, consisting of four parts: greetings; knowledge; public speaking; and talent.
The competition's content revolves around knowledge of the Law on Gender Equality; the Law on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence; the Law on Marriage and Family; and Government decrees regulating the implementation, measures, and administrative penalties related to gender equality...
At the competition, all teams performed well in their respective sections. In particular, in the public speaking and talent sections, the teams captivated the audience with their well-structured speeches, engaging voices, and diverse displays of talent, such as acting, dancing, and singing.
At the end of the competition, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to the Hoa Dat Muong team; the second prize to the Bong Lua team; the third prize to the Nang Mai team; and two consolation prizes to the Hy Vong and Hoa Huong Duong teams.
