Following its merger with the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, the National Academy of Public Administration officially became the Academy of Public Administration and Management. The Academy has its main headquarters in Hanoi, along with two branches in Ho Chi Minh City and Quang Nam .
This will be a center for training and research in public administration and management, better meeting the demands of the times and the development needs of the country.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Ba Chien emphasized that the merger is not the end but a new beginning. The Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics will be a solid foundation, leading the Academy of Public Administration and Management to develop even more strongly.

Training programs will continue as normal, without interruption or delay. The issuance of diplomas and certificates will be carried out in accordance with the law.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Ba Chien, after the merger, the Academy of Public Administration and Management is defined as a higher education institution directly under the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics. The Academy undertakes the following main tasks:
- To provide undergraduate, master's, and doctoral training in the fields of administration, state management, public administration, law, and other fields as prescribed by the Party, the State, the Law on Higher Education, and the assignment and delegation of authority by the Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics.
- To train and improve the professional skills, scientific research methods, and pedagogical methods of researchers and lecturers in administration, state management, public administration, law, and other fields as prescribed by the Party and the State, and as assigned and delegated by the Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics.
- Conducting scientific research and providing policy advice on national administrative development, administrative reform, public policy, public governance, etc., for agencies and organizations within the political system and to meet societal needs.
- Coordinate with relevant agencies and units to research and propose innovations in the content of programs and training in administration, state management, public governance, and law within the system of Party schools, political schools, and universities and colleges nationwide.
- International cooperation in training, academic exchange, and scientific research with international organizations and training and research institutions of other countries in the fields of administration, state management, public administration, law, and related fields.
- To perform the functions of providing public services and transferring technology in administration, state management, public governance, and legal matters as assigned and delegated by the Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and in accordance with the regulations of the Party and the State.
