(Dan Tri) - Pham Thi Tho, one of the three top students of the Academy of Public Administration and Management, scored 29 points in block C20 after only 2 weeks of intense exam preparation.

The female student from Tan Ky, Nghe An, is one of the three valedictorians of the 2025 Academy of Public Administration and Management based on high school graduation exam scores. Pham Thi Tho applied with the C20 combination with 9.5 points in literature, 10 points in geography, and 9.5 points in economic and legal education.

With this score, Tho was admitted to the school's Culture and Communication major.

Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, Tho said that she was also surprised with her own exam results. Because before the important exam, Tho only spent 2 weeks to really review. Tho and her family's plan was to just pass the graduation exam to qualify to go to Taiwan - where her brother studied and worked 7 years ago.

“I had a plan to go to Hanoi to study Chinese for a year after graduating, then go to Taiwan with my brother. But two weeks before the exam, my mother suddenly said, “Okay, you should try taking the university entrance exam.” Her words completely changed my future,” Tho said.

While her friends had been studying for the exam since grade 10, Tho officially started studying hard in the last two weeks. She asked her friends and teachers for documents, searched online for exam matrices, and carefully studied the format and structure of the exam. Then, she created a mind map of the knowledge of the two subjects: geography and economic and legal education .

“During those 2 weeks, I mainly reviewed geography because it is a subject with a large amount of knowledge. I learned economics and law by memorizing keywords and argumentation methods. I didn’t study much literature because I was very confident. In the mock exams organized by the school, I always got 9 points or more.

However, when I received the official 9.5 score for literature, I was still extremely surprised and happy. When I saw the score online, I screamed and ran from the house to the yard,” Tho shared.

The Nghe An female student emphasized that 29 points were not just the result of the last 2 weeks of exam preparation. Although she did not plan to go to university, Tho still studied seriously throughout her 3 years of high school and was always a good student.

Tho does not go to extra classes or join exam preparation centers. She only studies at school, diligently taking notes, listening to lectures and solving problems. For Tho, listening to lectures is very important. The female student said that she does not have the ability to memorize and can only remember lessons when she truly understands the essence.

Tho's high score changed the family's entire direction and plans.

“My mother said it would be a pity not to go to school with such high scores. So I just go to school and try my best. My brother will go to work to support me and my education. My parents also think it is better for their daughter to be close to them than far away,” Tho confided.

As for Tho, when she decided to focus on studying for the exam, the female student also went online to research majors and schools. The reason for "finalizing" Tho's wishes was very simple. It was because of a clip that was widely shared on TikTok recording the greetings of the Director of the Academy of Public Administration and Management to new students at the opening ceremony of the K24 course (2024-2025 school year).

“I was very impressed with the teacher's declaration of the new school year. He spoke enthusiastically: “Do you have aspiration? Do you have love? I wish you to study a lot, love a lot and be loved a lot!” Just because of that statement, I decided to choose this school to have a youth rich in knowledge and experience,” the valedictorian expressed.
