Building new countryside from innovative thinking

Quang Dien commune was merged from Sia town and the old communes of Quang Phuoc, Quang An, and Quang Tho. Right from the beginning of the term, the Party Committee of Quang Dien commune clearly defined the leadership motto: "People know, people discuss, people do, people inspect, people benefit" - considering this as the guiding principle in implementing the resolution, especially in building advanced new rural areas (NTM).

Based on a comprehensive, modern planning, while still preserving the traditional village identity, the Commune Party Committee has directed the selection and implementation of key projects with regional connectivity. All new rural construction projects have received high consensus from the people thanks to good mass mobilization work.

“In the face of problems, big or small, if we receive the consensus and support of the people, difficult things will become easy. To do that, all policies and guidelines related to the people must be public and transparent. When people understand, trust and accompany the Party Committee and the government, everything will certainly achieve the best results,” said Mr. Bui Binh, a resident of Thach Binh residential group, Quang Dien commune.

The consistent viewpoint in the leadership of the Commune Party Committee on building new rural areas does not stop at completing the "hard" criteria in the National Criteria Set, but focuses on improving the quality of life of the people. Thanks to that, the national target program on building new rural areas in Quang Dien has been implemented methodically, in depth, and in accordance with local characteristics.

The criteria are clearly assigned to the Party organization and mass organizations in charge; cadres and party members are assigned specific tasks related to each residential area. Up to now, Quang Dien commune has achieved 14/19 criteria for advanced new-style rural communes, notably in criteria such as: Environment, income, health, education and national defense - security.

The Quang Dien Commune Party Committee considers culture and society as the spiritual foundation for sustainable development. The preservation of relics, the promotion of traditional village identity, the organization of festivals, sports activities, etc. are maintained regularly, creating a connection between the past - present - future in community life.

Social security work is ensured with many models to support poor, near-poor and disadvantaged households. The work of "repaying gratitude" and taking care of the lives of policy families is effectively implemented. Sustainable poverty reduction work is directed and achieved positive results, the rate of poor households (according to multidimensional poverty standards) by 2025 is below 0.34%. During the term, the commune has established 25 new enterprises and 60 individual business households, bringing the total to 61 enterprises and 462 households - an impressive number for a purely agricultural area.

Of the total investment capital of more than 717 billion VND in the whole commune in the period of 2021 - 2025, up to 62% comes from the people and economic sectors. That number reflects the deep consensus and great trust of the people in the leadership of the Party, which is an important soft power for the locality to realize major goals.

Promoting the strength of the people

The Party Committee of Quang Dien commune always clearly identifies the key task, which is to improve the leadership capacity, fighting strength of the Party organization and the quality of the contingent of cadres and Party members.

Party cell activities were innovated in a thematic direction, promoting internal democracy while still ensuring leadership, education and combativeness. Inspection, supervision and Party discipline enforcement were carried out seriously and in accordance with regulations; deviations in ideology, ethics and style were promptly detected and corrected.

The work of developing new party members is focused on, especially among young people and in disadvantaged party cells. During the last term, the entire Quang Dien commune Party Committee admitted 82 new party members, bringing the total number of party members in the entire commune to 1,294.

The Party Committee of Quang Dien commune enters a new term with higher requirements, as the commune becomes an expanded administrative unit. On the solid foundation that has been built, the Party Committee and the commune government have identified four key programs to realize the development aspiration.

Party Secretary and Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Dien commune, Mr. Le Ngoc Bao affirmed: "Quang Dien is determined to successfully implement 4 key programs: Developing agriculture to adapt to climate change; digital transformation associated with administrative reform; developing tourism and services associated with the private economy; building a commune that meets advanced NTM standards - towards a type IV urban area. To achieve high results, in addition to the leadership and direction of the Party, there is also the companionship of the government and the people. Promoting the strength of the entire people and relying on the people is a consistent lesson in the leadership and direction of the Party Committee of the commune".

Quang Dien is gradually becoming a symbol of harmonious development between rural and urban areas, between tradition and modernity. That is a solid foundation for Quang Dien commune to strive to achieve the standards of an advanced new-style rural commune by 2030, complete the criteria of a type IV urban area, and form 3 to 4 model, civilized, and modern roads - worthy of the role of a new dynamic center of the lower Bo River.
