QNgTV - Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc instructed Quang Ngai province to review and select an investment plan that ensures feasibility and complies with bidding regulations for the Quang Ngai - Kon Tum expressway project.

Previously, Sun Group proposed investing in the 82km Quang Ngai - Mang Den expressway section with a total capital of approximately VND 25,100 billion under the public-private partnership (PPP) model, expected to be implemented in the period 2025 - 2029. The project would utilize central government budget funds combined with payment from local land funds. The People's Committee of Quang Ngai province has submitted a proposal to the Prime Minister for consideration to convert the investment form from public investment to PPP, applying a Build-Transfer (BT) contract.

The Deputy Prime Minister requested that localities strictly implement Directive No. 12 on strengthening the effectiveness, efficiency, and responsibility in bidding procedures. The Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Finance are responsible for guiding Quang Ngai province in organizing the implementation in accordance with regulations.

The Quang Ngai - Kon Tum expressway has been identified as a key project for the 2026-2030 period. When connected to the 54km Mang Den - Dak Ha section, with a proposed total investment of approximately 18,900 billion VND, the entire route will help alleviate congestion on National Highway 24, connect the Bo Y international border gate with Dung Quat seaport, and create momentum for the development of the Mang Den eco- tourism area.
