Ea Mar village has a total agricultural land area of 510 hectares, and the main source of income for its people comes from farming; however, it is not blessed with favorable natural conditions and soil.
With 263 households and 987 inhabitants, the village still faces many challenges, as there are 75 poor households, accounting for 32.4% of the population.
Faced with this situation, Mr. Y Khai, along with the political system in the village, made efforts to change the mindset and practices, and strongly transform the production thinking of the people.

| The rice fields of the people in Ea Mar village have yielded 2-3 harvests per year. |
First, through his approachable demeanor, sincerity, and business experience, he analyzed, encouraged, and suggested new approaches to instill in the local people the belief and aspiration to rise out of poverty right in this difficult border region.
The highlight of the transformation in Ea Mar village is the dramatic shift in production mindset. Previously, the people were accustomed to growing only traditional rice varieties year-round, with one crop per year and low yields. When the irrigation works and internal canal systems invested by the State were completed, bringing water directly to the fields, Mr. Y Khai mobilized and persuaded the villagers to change their farming methods, from cultivating one crop to 2-3 crops per year.

With encouragement from respected community leaders and dedicated guidance and technical support from the farmers' association, the people of Ea Mar village have gradually changed their farming practices, learned how to select new high-yield rice varieties, and applied science and technology to production, from fertilization to pest and disease control.
Thanks to a reliable water supply, farmland is no longer left fallow. Rice cultivation has increased to 2-3 crops per year, and yields have also increased significantly, providing a more stable income for many households.

| He analyzed the situation and urged the villagers not to let livestock and poultry roam freely under their stilt houses. |
Not content with simply increasing rice yields, Mr. Y Khai also pondered over new directions, encouraging villagers to diversify crops and livestock to "use short-term gains to support long-term growth." He encouraged villagers to take advantage of their home gardens and natural ponds to raise chickens and ducks, creating a source of food and supplementary income during the off-season.
As a result, many people in Ea Mar village have boldly planted more sugarcane to sell to the factory, intercropped it with short-term crops such as pumpkins and cucumbers for quick income, and engaged in small-scale livestock farming to make full use of land resources.
A typical example is the household of Ms. H' Púch Rya. On over 2 acres of rocky land, she learned how to grow cucumbers to supplement her income. After just a few successful cucumber harvests, it brought in a significant income, helping her family cover living expenses and reinvest in production.

Accordingly, Ea Mar village has seen an average annual reduction of 3-5% in the poverty rate, the material and spiritual lives of its people have improved, and the number of well-off households has also increased.
Besides focusing on economic development, Mr. Y Khai also prioritizes mobilizing villagers to build a cultural life and improve environmental hygiene. He, along with other community organizations, persistently encourages villagers to change old habits, such as grazing livestock under houses, to ensure village cleanliness. This activity is integrated into the "Building a 3-No Residential Area" and "5-No, 3-Clean" movements. Ea Mar village has established an environmental protection team and organizes monthly general cleaning of village roads and alleys.
Thanks to the leadership of Mr. Y Khai and the unity of the villagers, the appearance of Ea Mar hamlet is gradually changing. The economy is thriving, the fields are lush and green, and the life in the village is becoming more civilized and beautiful.
