Upon arriving in Thieu Ly commune, everyone can sense the clear transformation of the rural area. The village now has a neat and clean appearance, with concrete roads connecting alleys and hamlets. Village cultural centers, sports facilities, and playgrounds have been invested in comprehensively.
According to Le Khac Bao, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thieu Ly commune: Currently, all 7 villages in the commune have been recognized as cultural units, and 93% of households are recognized as cultural families. Each village has a cultural center and a standard village sports area, meeting the cultural and sports needs of the people. In addition, each village has established 2 to 3 performing arts and sports teams... This is the result of the commune's focus on implementing the movement of national unity in building a cultured life in conjunction with the New Rural Development program.
According to the assessment of Thieu Hoa district, the movement for national unity in building a cultured way of life has been widely implemented, linked with the construction of new rural areas and the development of civilized urban lifestyles. The results of the movement have had a comprehensive impact on all aspects of life, contributing to the successful implementation of the district's socio -economic tasks.
To ensure the movement spreads widely, the District Steering Committee for the Movement of National Unity in Building a Culturally Rich Life has closely followed the programs and plans of higher levels and the local reality to issue many policies, plans, and solutions to promote the movement's development, focusing on directing the movement to build culturally rich villages, hamlets, and families. At the same time, the District Steering Committee for the Movement of National Unity in Building a Culturally Rich Life and the communes and towns have intensified the dissemination of resolutions and decisions related to improving cultural quality and the contents of the movement to each village and household so that the people are aware and can implement them. Associations, organizations, and localities have proactively integrated the contents of the movement of national unity in building a culturally rich life with other movements, emulation campaigns, and activities of their respective units.
During the implementation process, the district identified the movement to build culturally exemplary families, villages, and residential areas as a central and continuous task. Therefore, it focused on disseminating information about the meaning and role of the family in society; the importance of building culturally exemplary families in conjunction with building culturally exemplary residential areas, culturally exemplary agencies and units, and preventing and combating domestic violence. In particular, the district directed localities to link the building of culturally exemplary families with the implementation of civilized lifestyles in weddings, funerals, festivals, and in the community; and to preserve and promote the traditional cultural values of the family and the nation.
The district also coordinated with associations and organizations to integrate the movement to build culturally exemplary families with other movements to create a green, clean, and beautiful environment; to promote excellent production and business practices; and to foster solidarity and mutual assistance in poverty reduction and economic development. The effectiveness of the movement to build culturally exemplary families has contributed to creating a healthy and safe cultural environment and combating social evils. In 2024, the percentage of culturally exemplary families in the district reached 93.6%; and the percentage of culturally exemplary residential areas reached 93.4%.
One of the solutions implemented by Thieu Hoa district to promote the nationwide movement for building a cultured way of life is that the steering committees at all levels have mobilized all resources to complete the system of cultural and sports facilities. Communes and towns have allocated land for planning cultural centers, community centers, sports areas, and community activity areas in conjunction with the New Rural Development program.
To date, the district has a conference center, a gymnasium and training facility, a stadium, and a traditional exhibition hall. 100% of communes and towns have cultural centers, sports complexes, and recreational areas for the elderly and children. 100% of villages and sub-districts have cultural houses and sports facilities. These cultural and sports facilities are fully equipped and used for their intended purpose.
According to Tran Ngoc Tung, Head of the Department of Culture, Science and Information of Thieu Hoa District: “The movement for national unity in building a cultured life has always received the attention of the Party Committee and the government, and the enthusiastic participation of the people. Through this movement, the people have played their role as the main actors, and many exemplary individuals have emerged in local movements such as road construction, building cultural centers, environmental sanitation, economic development, and cultural and sports activities... The results achieved from the movement for national unity in building a cultured life have become a driving force for the locality to effectively implement its socio-economic development goals.”
