Vietnam women's team embarks on journey to conquer Southeast Asia 2025

TPO - On the afternoon of July 30, the Vietnamese women's team had its first training session in Hai Phong, kicking off the final preparation phase before the 2025 Southeast Asian Women's Football Championship.

Although the training session at Vin Cau Rao 2 Stadium was arranged after 4 p.m. to avoid the harsh sunlight, the weather in Hai Phong was still quite hot, requiring the players to maintain high concentration and good physical strength.

Head coach Mai Duc Chung and captain Huynh Nhu were absent due to being on their way back from Australia after the draw for the 2026 Women's Asian Cup finals.

Temporary training is undertaken by assistants, with a curriculum that includes flexible warm-up exercises combined with fun games, creating a comfortable atmosphere for the whole team.

The main drill is pressing three goals, helping players improve their movement skills, coordination and constant pressure, important factors in the upcoming tense matches.

The positive atmosphere, focus and excitement of the whole team showed their readiness to aim for the highest goal in the tournament.

According to plan, the team will stay at The Shine Hotel (Hai Phong) until August 3, before moving to the tournament's official hotel, Pullman Hai Phong, from August 4.

Coach Mai Duc Chung will attend a pre-tournament press conference on August 5 with the Group A teams, while the Group B press conference will take place on August 6 in Viet Tri.

At the 2025 Southeast Asian Women's Football Championship, the Vietnamese women's team will meet Cambodia (August 6), Indonesia (August 9) and Thailand (August 12).
