Associate Professor Dr. Bui Quang Hung was assigned to take charge of managing Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, replacing Professor Dr. Su Dinh Thanh, who resigned as director due to the end of his term.

Previously, on September 22, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Education and Training approved the policy to allow Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics to carry out the process of reappointing two Deputy Directors.

On that basis, the University Council has implemented the steps according to the procedure and issued a resolution to re-appoint two Deputy Directors, Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Quang Hung and Dr. Dinh Cong Khai, and at the same time assigned the authority to manage to Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Quang Hung.

Associate Professor Bui Quang Hung, 47 years old, was assigned to take charge of operating Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics.

Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Quang Hung, born in 1978, is currently Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Director of Vinh Long Branch - UEH Mekong.

He graduated from the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Auditing in 2000, then received a Master's degree from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT, Thailand) and a Master's degree in Finance from the European School of Management ESCP-EAP (France) in 2004. In 2019, he defended his PhD thesis in Accounting at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City and was appointed as an associate professor in 2023.

During nearly 25 years of working at this school, Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Quang Hung has held many positions at the University: Lecturer, Secretary of the Youth Union, Head of Finance - Accounting Department, Chief Accountant, Head of Human Resources Department, Deputy Director of the Institute of Innovation, Deputy Director/Director of Vinh Long Branch - UEH Mekong.

Since 2020, he was appointed Vice Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, then transferred to Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics (2023). He has been directly in charge of many areas in university administration such as: Finance, Facilities, Training, Student Care, Communication and Partner Development, and Comprehensive University Digital Transformation.
