Vietnamese leaders welcomed and highly appreciated the significance of National Assembly Chairman Woo Won Shik's visit to Vietnam; believing that the visit will significantly contribute to promoting relations between the two countries' parliaments.
At the meeting, General Secretary To Lam said that with similar basic strategic interests and achievements in cooperation over the years, Vietnam and South Korea have very favorable conditions to shape a new strategic vision for cooperation and create opportunities for mutual development.

The General Secretary hopes that the two countries will continue to be close friends and reliable partners on the journey to realizing their development goals and aspirations.
Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Woo Won Shik believes that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, headed by General Secretary To Lam, Vietnam will develop more strongly and soon achieve the goal of becoming a high-income developed country by 2045. Korea will accompany Vietnam in the process of successfully implementing this important goal.
General Secretary To Lam hopes that the legislative bodies of the two countries will promote their role in promoting economic cooperation between the two countries and carry out many exchange activities, contributing to enhancing political trust and relations between parliamentarians.
The General Secretary suggested that Korea continue to enhance the capacity of Vietnamese enterprises to participate more deeply in the global supply chain of Korean enterprises, thereby contributing to the goal of increasing bilateral trade turnover to 150 billion USD by 2030 in a balanced and sustainable manner.
The General Secretary also suggested that both sides make science and technology cooperation, innovation and digital transformation a new pillar in the relationship; strengthen cooperation in human resource training and research and development of strategic technology industries and strategic technology products. The two countries need to promote cooperation, build core infrastructure such as artificial intelligence (AI), next-generation networks and data centers, and build a legal and institutional framework to enter the digital age of AI together.


The General Secretary suggested that Korea pay attention to and create conditions for the Vietnamese community to integrate, live, study and work stably and long-term; support Vietnamese expatriates to become members of the Korean National Assembly; and continue to simplify visa procedures for Vietnamese citizens and move towards visa exemption.
Based on the good relations between the two countries, National Assembly Chairman Woo Won Shik suggested that the two sides promote the substantial development of defense cooperation and closely cooperate in preventing transnational crimes, especially high-tech crimes and online fraud.
Mr. Woo Won Shik suggested that Vietnam actively support and remove some difficulties for Korean enterprises, and at the same time create conditions for Korean enterprises to participate in investing in key projects in Vietnam. Korea always attaches importance to the comprehensive strategic partnership with Vietnam in implementing foreign policy in the region.
At the meeting with President Luong Cuong, National Assembly Chairman Woo Won Shik expressed his gratitude to the President for attending the APEC Summit. The Republic of Korea will actively share experiences and closely coordinate with Vietnam to successfully organize the APEC Summit 2027.

The two leaders agreed to strengthen political trust to create a solid foundation to promote other areas of cooperation; and continue to concretize the commitments and agreements that have been reached.
President Luong Cuong hopes that the legislative bodies of the two countries will closely coordinate to create a legal corridor, implement the content of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, and support the agreements and commitments of the two governments.

The President said that the potential and strengths for cooperation between the two countries are enormous; the two sides need to promote defense and security cooperation, and transnational crime prevention; and strengthen cooperation in education, culture and people-to-people exchange to create cohesion and understanding.
National Assembly Chairman Woo Won Shik hopes that Vietnam will continue to support and remove difficulties for Korean businesses. He said he will coordinate with the Vietnamese legislative body to support the two governments to promote bilateral cooperation.
The two leaders agreed to continue to cooperate and support each other at regional and international forums and make efforts to promote the lasting peace process on the Korean Peninsula.
