The success of Da Nang fireworks is not only from the performance nights, but also the tourism and cultural ecosystem that is attractive enough for visitors through 12 times of organization.

DIFF 2025 is the fireworks festival with the most teams (10 teams) and the longest (nearly 1.5 months with 6 shows). Up to now, fireworks have become a strong brand of Da Nang, and from fireworks, Da Nang City has turned this festival into a lever to bring tourism to new heights.

Indeed, besides fireworks, tourists return to the city on the Han River thanks to the diverse ecosystem of tourism products and services, and new, multi-utility experiences.

With the orientation of maintaining its position as a "city of festivals and events", in recent years, almost every month Da Nang City has had at least 1 major event that stands out, playing the main role, with dozens of supporting activities, meeting the diverse needs of tourists at all times of the year.

Right at the beginning of the year, the city launched a Christmas and New Year festival, cultural festivals during Tet were upgraded, the Food Tour program, the beach tourism season, the golf tourism convention, Ironman 70.3, the Buddha relics invitation... and especially the summer highlight is DIFF 2025.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, since the beginning of the year, Da Nang's tourism industry has had an infrastructure of more than 46,000 hotel rooms, 8,000 dining establishments, 6,252 tour guides, 561 travel agencies, and 16 tourist attractions, serving more than 3.5 million overnight guests, an increase of more than 18.6% over the same period last year.

Of which, there were more than 1.7 million international visitors, an increase of 43% over the same period. This result reflects the effectiveness of the promotion and market expansion strategy, while affirming the growing attraction of Da Nang to international tourist markets.

Opening the billion dollar market

The new feature of DIFF this summer and the city's tourism industry in 2025 is the work of attracting the international market with DIFF as a lever, opening up a "billion-dollar" opportunity with the flow of tourists from the Middle East market, CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States), and Muslim tourists.

Especially the presence of the world's leading airline Emirates opening a flight route from Dubai to Da Nang.

In addition, from April to October, charter flights from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan operate about 10,000 passengers/month to Da Nang City with more than 10 flights per week.

According to the leader of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, with the main product of DIFF in the summer tourist season, the presence of international visitors from the Middle East and Central Asia helps to expand the promotion of Da Nang destination, expand the high-end customer segment, especially from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar... with the middle and upper class, spending high on accommodation services, high-class cuisine, shopping, resorts and healthcare.

"Although this is not the majority of visitors, tourism revenue is very high thanks to tourists who like privacy, high-end beach resort services, Middle East and Central Asia flights also help Da Nang directly connect with distant markets, creating a foundation to increase frequency, expand market share from these regions and Europe, thereby attracting investment from the UAE, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Malaysia into the tourism ecosystem in Da Nang City in resort services, international schools, and medical tourism", said the leader of the Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism.

A representative of Sheraton Grand Danang Resort & Convention Center further demonstrated that during DIFF, all 258 rooms and suites were "sold out". Among them, Middle Eastern and Central Asian guests prefer entertainment activities, besides watching fireworks, they also require high-class experiences, requiring strictness in cuisine and spa services for families.

In particular, over the past 2 years, the 250m infinity pool area or the 10m high Grand Ballroom with a capacity of 1,000 guests here have often become party spaces for large events such as million-dollar wedding parties of Indian guests, private parties with expensive costs, suitable for the customer segment that needs grand and luxurious spaces. This shows the opportunity to bring in large revenue from this high-class customer source.

In addition, according to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, bringing in "rich" tourists from the Middle East and Central Asia also increases the operating capacity of service establishments, because the tourist season of this tourist source does not directly compete with traditional markets such as Korea, China and Japan.

This helps Da Nang tourism reduce peak season load by shifting to other markets, reducing seasonality, increasing hotel room occupancy and year-round tours.

Legend Danang Golf Resort golf course leaders cited that the golf course's operating capacity has almost no concept of low season. If in the early season, all 36 golf holes recorded the regular presence of Korean tourists due to the peak season of this tourist market, then in the summer, this place welcomes new guests to experience fireworks and golf from flights from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and soon, there will be guests from the newly opened Dubai flight route.
