Comrade Hoang Quoc Thuong was elected Chairman of the People's Council of Chi Linh City.

On the afternoon of January 14, the People's Council of Chi Linh City held a special meeting to complete the position of Chairman of the People's Council of Chi Linh City, term II, 2021-2026.

At the meeting, the People's Council of Chi Linh City elected an additional Chairman of the People's Council of the second term. As a result, comrade Hoang Quoc Thuong, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Chi Linh City Party Committee, was elected with 30/30 votes, reaching 100%.

Speaking at the ceremony to accept the new assignment, comrade Hoang Quoc Thuong pledged to work with the Standing Committee of the People's Council and delegates to promote the spirit of solidarity to resolve important issues to meet the legitimate aspirations of voters and people of the city. The City People's Council will continue to coordinate with the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations to perform well the supervisory tasks of the City People's Council.

Previously, the People's Council of Chi Linh City also agreed to dismiss the position of Chairman of the City People's Council and stop the duties of a City People's Council delegate for Mr. Nguyen Van Hong due to retirement from January 1, 2025.
