Comrade Hoang Quoc Thuong was elected to the position of Chairman of the People's Council of Chi Linh City.

On the afternoon of January 14th, the People's Council of Chi Linh City held a special session to consolidate the position of Chairman of the People's Council of Chi Linh City, term II, 2021-2026.

At the session, the Chi Linh City People's Council elected a new Chairman for the second term of the City People's Council. As a result, Comrade Hoang Quoc Thuong, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Secretary of the Chi Linh City Party Committee, was elected with 30 out of 30 votes, achieving a 100% approval rate.

In his acceptance speech, Comrade Hoang Quoc Thuong pledged to work with the Standing Committee of the City People's Council and other delegates to promote unity in resolving important issues and meeting the legitimate aspirations of voters and the people of the city. The City People's Council will continue to coordinate with the Fatherland Front and other political and social organizations to effectively carry out the supervisory duties of the City People's Council.

Previously, the People's Council of Chi Linh City also unanimously agreed to dismiss Mr. Nguyen Van Hong from the position of Chairman of the City People's Council and relieve him of his duties as a member of the City People's Council due to his retirement effective January 1, 2025.
