Comrade Nguyen Dinh Viet was elected Chairman of Son La Provincial People's Committee.

(CPV) - On the morning of November 7, at the 25th thematic session, the People's Council of Son La province, term XV, 2021 - 2026, elected comrade Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Son La province with an absolute number of votes.

Son La Provincial Party Secretary Hoang Quoc Khanh congratulated comrade Nguyen Dinh Viet on being elected as Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Also at the meeting, the People's Council of Son La province carried out the procedure to dismiss comrade Nguyen Ngoc Van, member of the provincial People's Committee, former Director of Son La Provincial Police, who was transferred by his superiors to take on other duties.

At the same time, the Provincial People's Council elected comrade Dang Trong Cuong, Director of Son La Provincial Police, as a member of the Son La Provincial People's Committee.

The 25th thematic session also carried out the procedure to dismiss comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Son La province, from the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, due to being assigned other tasks by competent authorities.

Speaking at the ceremony to accept his new position, the new Chairman of Son La Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Dinh Viet expressed his gratitude for the attention of the Party, State and Son La Provincial Party Committee towards him, considering this a great honor and also a responsibility that must be carried out well.

With the responsibility assigned to him as the head of the Provincial People's Committee, Comrade Nguyen Dinh Viet promised to always humbly learn, devote all his energy, intelligence, strive to excel, quickly accept new tasks with the collective Party Executive Committee and the People's Committee of Son La province to continue to inherit and promote the achievements of previous generations of leaders to best complete the assigned tasks with the highest determination.

Previously, on November 5, the Standing Committee of the Son La Provincial Party Committee held a conference to announce the Decision of the Central Party Secretariat on the transfer and appointment of comrade Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Chairman of the Economic Committee of the 15th National Assembly, to join the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, holding the position of Deputy Secretary of the Son La Provincial Party Committee, term 2020 - 2025.

At the conference, comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, former Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Son La province handed over the duties of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 15th term, 2021 - 2026 to comrade Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and handed over the duties of Secretary of the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee to comrade Trang Thi Xuan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Comrade Nguyen Dinh Viet took office as Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 15th term, 2021 - 2026 from November 7, 2024.

Comrade Trang Thi Xuan received the handover of the task of Secretary of the Party Committee from Comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh, to direct and operate the activities of the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee from November 7, 2024 until the Decision of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee appoints the Secretary of the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee.

Based on the functions, duties and powers as prescribed by law, the Working Regulations and the assignment of specific management and operation tasks of the Provincial People's Committee, Comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh has handed over to Comrade Nguyen Dinh Viet to receive and organize the implementation of the tasks of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to ensure that the activities of the Provincial People's Committee take place normally, continuously and effectively.
