| Song Nhiem 3 Hydropower Plant. |
The Song Nhiem 3 hydropower plant, with a capacity of 14.2 MW, is located in Niem Son commune, Tuyen Quang province. When operational, the plant will supply the national power grid with an annual electricity output of 51.6 million kWh, contributing to alleviating the national power grid's electricity shortage during the period of 2025-2030 and beyond. Furthermore, the project will contribute to increasing the revenue of the LICOGI 13 system, as well as contributing to the Tuyen Quang provincial budget and socio -economic development in Niem Son commune.
By the end of July 2025, the Song Nhiem 3 Hydropower Project had successfully connected its first and second generating units to the grid. Prior to that, the project had energized the 35kV substation, which was connected via a 35kV line from the 110kV Yen Minh substation.
Without fanfare, the Song Nhiem 3 Hydropower Plant has chosen to be a long-term partner with the local community. Since its commissioning, the plant has become a crucial pillar in supplementing the national power grid with a stable supply of electricity, especially during peak periods of hot weather or heavy rains and floods. Electricity from this remote mountainous region has traveled across hills and mountains, reaching every home and every factory, contributing to the continuous rhythm of life and work.

Mr. Truong Quang Vinh, General Director of Song Nhiem 3 Joint Stock Company, shared: "The plant's contribution is not limited to just electricity production figures. During its construction and operation, the plant has created jobs for many local workers. Farmers accustomed to working in the fields now have more opportunities to access technical and service work, gradually changing their production mindset and increasing their income. For them, the plant is no longer an unfamiliar structure, but a place they are attached to, a place where they can entrust their long-term livelihoods."
Furthermore, Song Nhiem 3 Hydropower Plant always prioritizes fulfilling its social responsibilities. Roads have been renovated, and schools and cultural centers have received support, contributing to changing the face of many villages. During holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year), the plant's staff and workers travel long distances, bringing Tet gifts and warmth to disadvantaged families. These gifts may not be large, but they are enough to warm hearts in the cold highlands.
In the memories of many riverside residents, the Nhiem River used to be a raging torrent during the rainy season. The presence of the power plant, along with proper flow regulation, has contributed to mitigating some of the risks of natural disasters, giving people more peace of mind in their production and daily lives. The river is no longer a source of worry, but is gradually becoming a resource serving development.

As spring arrives amidst the fading peach blossoms and white plum blossoms of the mountains and forests, the electricity from the Song Nhiem 3 Hydropower Plant continues to quietly spread, warming homes and illuminating dreams. It is also a spring that carries the silent yet enduring mark of the hydropower workers who are generating warm electricity in this cold, rocky land.
