Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the event held special significance as it coincided with the nationwide commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country. It was also an opportunity to remember and express gratitude to the ancestors who made immense sacrifices and contributions to the cause of national liberation and nation-building. In that spirit, the Government organized the simultaneous groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies for 80 key projects and works across the North, Central, and South regions, with a total investment of up to 450,000 billion VND.

The Prime Minister stated that many large projects have been completed and put into use, especially expressway projects. Vietnam has completed an additional 227 km of expressways, bringing the total length of expressways nationwide to 2,268 km. If completed on schedule by the end of this year, it will surpass the 3,000 km mark – a target set at the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam. In the first 20 years (from the start of expressway construction until 2020), the whole country built less than 1,000 km. Yet in the past 5 years, an additional 2,000 km have been implemented and targeted – a figure that demonstrates the great determination of the entire Party and the entire people.
The Prime Minister expressed confidence that the target of completing 3,000 km of expressways in 2025 would be achieved. This is the result of decisive leadership, close coordination among all levels, sectors, and localities; especially the unity of the people and the tireless efforts of tens of thousands of workers on the construction sites. On the occasion of the country's important anniversary, many other public works projects were also started and inaugurated, such as: a clean water supply system for 100,000 households, medical centers, schools, cultural and sports facilities… contributing to improving the quality of life and ensuring social security for the people.
Regarding the Tan Son Nhat Airport Terminal 3 project, the Prime Minister stated that the construction was completed two months ahead of schedule, demonstrating a spirit of urgency and efficiency. This spirit needs to be maintained and promoted in other key projects such as Long Thanh Airport, with the determination to essentially complete it in 2025.

To achieve the goal of completing the T3 terminal project ahead of schedule, Construction Corporation No. 1 - JSC (CC1) mobilized more than 800 engineers and workers along with hundreds of modern machines and equipment, organizing continuous construction in 3 shifts and 4 teams, working day and night. All work on the construction site was organized systematically, flexibly, optimizing time and manpower to ensure progress, quality and absolute safety.
In addition, the Government has commenced construction on 33 large-scale projects across provinces and cities, including projects such as: Ho Chi Minh City's Ring Road 3, Thang Long Boulevard, the Ninh Binh - Hai Phong Expressway, AEON Hai Duong Shopping Center, Thai Nguyen University Phase 3, Tran De Industrial Park infrastructure, and social housing projects in Vinh Phuc, Ha Nam, and Long An. These are strategically important projects that create momentum for the synchronized development of socio-economic infrastructure.
According to the Prime Minister, the projects launched and inaugurated today demonstrate the determination of the Party and the State, the consensus of the people and businesses in creating new development spaces, ensuring social welfare, security and national defense, and inspiring the nation's strong and sustainable development aspirations.
