Dong Nai: A Flow of History, Aspiration for the Future

On the evening of April 30th, the People's Committee of Dong Nai City organized a special art program and high-altitude fireworks display in the Dong Nai River area, Tran Bien Ward, to practically celebrate the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2026) and the establishment of Dong Nai City.

Along the Đồng Nai riverside road, in the Trấn Biên ward of Đồng Nai city, an art program with the theme "Đồng Nai: The Flow of History, Aspiration for the Future" took place, attracting a large number of people to enjoy it.

The program, featuring spectacular artistic performances and theatrical scenes by artists from the Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City Art Theaters, recreated the history of Dong Nai, a land closely associated with the southward expansion of our nation 328 years ago, marked by the event of Lord Nguyen Huu Canh establishing the Tran Bien Citadel, laying the foundation for the development of Dong Nai-Gia Dinh and the entire Southern region later on.

Next, the performances celebrated love for the homeland, the country, and the Dong Nai region throughout different stages of history. The performances also praised the construction and development of Dong Nai since liberation to the present day, portraying it as a dynamic, humble, generous, and compassionate land.

The artistic performance reflects the aspirations of Dong Nai.

Through these performances, we also showcase Dong Nai today with its new scale, potential, position, long-term vision, and great aspirations to build this land into an increasingly green, prosperous, civilized, and happy region, joining the rest of the country in this era of national progress.

Leaders of Dong Nai city and former leaders of Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc provinces, along with a large number of people, attended the event.

The program concluded with a 15-minute high-altitude fireworks display over the Hoa An Bridge spanning the Dong Nai River.

*At the same time, the People's Committee of Dong Nai City organized an art program and fireworks display at Suoi Cam Lake, Binh Phuoc Ward.

In addition to the two special art programs at the two aforementioned locations, art programs and low-altitude fireworks displays were also simultaneously held in Dai Phuoc commune and 10 newly established wards to commemorate the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam, the reunification of the country, and the establishment of the wards and the city of Dong Nai.

City leaders of Dong Nai, along with local residents, watched an art performance in the area along the Dong Nai River.

April 30th this year marks the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country, and also the day Dong Nai City officially commenced operations according to a resolution of the National Assembly . This is a milestone of immense historical significance for the Party Committee, government, and people of the entire city.

Dong Nai City is determined to create a strong transformation, ushering the locality into a new era of development, with an urban landscape and quality of life for its people that truly live up to expectations and are ready to become an important growth hub for the entire country.

With the establishment of Dong Nai city, the country now has 7 centrally-governed cities, including: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Can Tho, Hai Phong, Hue and Dong Nai.
